if you really want to know the difference in America.

James Comey was allowed to turn himself in.

Roger Stone was dragged from his house at gunpoint at 6am by FBI in riot gear.

They'll be lucky if this even makes it to trial. Even trumps own appointed prosecutors said that there was very limited evidence of a crime. This is simply Trump continuing to weaponize doj against anybody that has crossed him.

My prediction is judge throws this out and then the whiny wingers say it was because they were liberal.

a grand jury is more than one person though..

It's a one sided presentation, by definition.

I mean he 110% lied to congress.   There should be a penalty for that and people on both sides of the aisle have been doing it for to long

The venue, the Eastern District of Virginia, and the judge, a Biden appointee, could present an uphill battle, but improper judicial decisions can be overcome.  Comey’s dilemma will be in disputing the witnesses against him: McCabe, probably the weakest, but a close associate; Baker; Rybicki; and IG Horowitz, whether in person or through the reports he submitted and his referral to the DoJ for Comey’s criminal prosecution for leaking.

Legal expert sees no viable case against James Comey after Trump DOJ indictment

Former FBI director faces charges for allegedly lying to Congress about Trump-Russia investigation handling

As former FBI Director James Comey publicly defends himself against a grand jury indictment, one legal analyst and former assistant U.S. attorney argues the case needs to be "thrown out."

"I don't think there's a case," Fox News contributor Andrew McCarthy said on "Mornings with Maria" Friday. "The Russiagate stuff, I'm as big a critic of that probably as there is. I wrote a book about it. I think it was a disgrace and history will remember it that way. This indictment is not about that."

Interesting take on Fox News that might surprise the hacks out there that say it is maga only.

Yeah when I saw that he was indicted my first thought it'll more than likely get tossed.  The courts would be filled day and night if we actually held politicians responsible for lying...unfortunately it is the way it is and we as a society accept it.

Well, he was a civil servant, not a politician so there's that.   I think him going to FISA to get warrants when he knew the evidence he presented (or his people presented) was false.   That should be actionable in my opinion.

Well, if he can't be convicted, then this is a waste of time.   But they could be doing to him what was done to Trump which was to try to bankrupt him.   Apparently that is a well rehearsed thing the government does in all ages.   I'm not for it as that is morally wrong.   But it has been done before countless times by states and the feds.   If there is no real case against Comey, then this is for show.   I think there is a real case on his use of the  FISA warrant process where he knowingly allowed evidence to be presented to FISA that was false.   That is corruption of the highest order.
