Apple valley had Hall and Gable

Bosco had the valencia brothers and pico

Blair had Kolodzik,Mckenna,Manville

Not trying to do any revisionist history just the sentiment on the guys at the time.

Im sure st eds had some pretty insane squads and franklin regional had some great teams but nobody comparable to spencers tier outside of him.

I don't have any knowledge off the top of my head, but I would almost have to think that Blair had some teams in the early 2000s. Were Esposito, Perry, and Mocco at Blair at the same time?

Edit: Logan Stieber, Hunter Stieber, Jamie Clark, Collin Palmer and Cam Tessari were all at St. Eds together as well.. right?

SPG also had Bo and Micah, and a handful of other future AAs on the same high school roster IIRC.

2000 Blair had Cooperman, Esposito, Backes, and Mocco…..pretty good group.

2001 same group and add Robbie Preston. Blair early 2000s was ridiculous.

2009 had Grey, Villalonga, and Ruth.

All really good groups.

old school - Barry Davis, Jim Zalesky, and Lenny Zalesky all attended the same HS in Iowa, Cedar Rapids Prairie. And then the University of Iowa together. 6 NCAA titles, 2 other finals, and I think 11 total AA finishes. Think Barry and Jim were same class, Lenny 2 years older.

Their best combined year at Iowa was 1982. Barry and Jim were champs and Lenny was 2nd.

The Heffernan brothers and Joe McFarland went to the same elementary school, thats a fun one to me. Two future Big 10 coaches and the future head coach of St. Eds.

I'm sure Father Bassett is well aware and on it.

That's great.  I would have loved to have been 6'2 220 and ripped.  My dad was aware of it.  I didn't come close.

Ask Kurt McHenry about winning cadet worlds at 91 lbs...

Tough to top the Davidson trio.  I like the Zalesky x2 + Davis triad too. Some tough Blair trios too.

But the McCort trio is right there and I wouldn't be surprised the top them all.  For all the fuss about Bo's recruitment, and how he was (for a while) the savior of Iowa wrestling, he may well be the third best of the three.

Davis and Zaleskys had the best results in college, but I don't know how they were seen as recruits coming out of college.

For the Davison trio Reader was #10 in the class of 2006.  Metcalf was #2 in the class of 2005.  Donahoe was was either 2003 or 2004 and I don't have ranking for that year.  He had won Fargo multiple times so probably a top 10. But only 1 or two years with all of them on the same team.

Another candidate would be Franklin Regional.  They had a team with Spencer Lee, Michael Kemerer, Josh Shields, and Josh Maruca.  Lee and Kemerer both went to Iowa where they were 4x AAs and Lee won three titles.  Maruca and Shields went to ASU.  Shields placed 6th and 7th then qualified as the 6 seed in 2020 before the tournament was ultimately cancelled.  Maruca was a national qualifier at ASU, but never reached the podium.  Spencer Lee was #2 in the class of 2017.  The rest were in the class of 2015 with Kemerer #8, Shields #13, and Maruca #55.

Two of the McCort big three have beaten NCAA champs whilst still in high school.  Not going to find that in any other big three.
