Which teams have some good weight class battles?

These were the two weights to watch in my mind as well.  174 seems to be truly open.  Whiting is better defensively and Riddle better offensively.  I think Hwt is Hopke's to lose, mainly because 4 years left vs. 1 year.  No common folkstyle opponents since Koy doesn't have a collegiate match yet, but he beat Jarrett Stoner, Mizz in freestyle who beat Tabor in folkstyle last season.  Koy also has a freestyle win over Nathan Taylor right after high school.

If Hopke is 70% of the prospect, we all thought he was prior to the injury I do not think this is overly competitive.

Tabor was #23 on his senior big board and Hopke was #17 on his last one, so both pretty good prospects (3 years apart) who have both missed a season to injury.  I feel Hopke has better offensive potential and will win the spot if healthy.  If their early season results are similar, he probably still wins the spot based on years of eligibility remaining.  I feel Tabor would need a very convincing win or two to be the starter.

Thanks Gus. I just wasn't sure he could hold 149 especially after a year off. He was 152 in HS.

Michigan has a battle forming for 157 & 165 it seems.  Three guys for two spots.

Cam Catrabone
Justin Gates
Dylan Gilcher

All should be NQ type level at a minimum.  I think 157 is a better weight for Catrabone and Gilcher and Gates was a high-profile Davison recruit (Facundo, Metcalf, Reader, etc), so I think they're expecting a bit out of him. 

I am curious if Walker can suck himself down to 165, with both Mantanonas moving up to 174 and 184, respectively - I assume they didn't do that to ride pine.  Walker against either of those, or perhaps Walker inserts himself in to the 165lb conversations (or the other end - 197lbs?)?  Walker isn't coming back to also ride pine - he wants to start.

Speaking of Walker, his brother Zar has potential to grow, too.  He came in as an expected 133/141 and wrestled as high as 157lbs last season.  He could enter the conversation at 157/165 as well.

Maybe a little off the national radar, but I think Stanford at 141 between Aden Valencia and Jack Consiglio is intriguing. Both Freshman, but I think both could AA this year, minimum R12.

I was kind of assuming it would be consiglio vs Parco. Consiglio just seems huge for 141 to me but I agree if that is the matchup its a really good one.
