We helped fund the reason these children need medical care.

Nah.   They started a war with a bigger badder opponent and are now unhappy about the results.   Actions have consequences.

You still didn’t answer why won’t their Arab/muslim brothers help them.  Ever?

I think @1032004 knows exactly the other Arab countries don’t help them…. Won’t Even take their refugees.

I’m not sure he does know.  He sounds to me like a 20 year old kid that lives in mommy’s basement with MSNBC on all day.

But again.   Where is all the outrage and moral indignation for their Arab Muslim brother countries not helping out.  Some are right stinkin next door.

Egypt has.

Let me guess, you didn’t ask why other countries didn’t take in the “persecuted” white South Africans earlier this year instead of us, did you?

Egypt no longer helps from what I understand.   They will not take refugees or let them have access to hospitals.   They will not take any immigrants.

has past tense.  Yes.   Do they now.  No.

What about good good Jordan.   Same there too no?

(I was kidding, hence the high number of punctuation marks... but I bet we have a few on this board who don't know or choose to ignore (for some strange reason 🤔))

Egypt maintains a tight border policy with the Gaza Strip, primarily due to security concerns and a strategic effort to avoid a potential influx of Palestinian refugees into its territory, particularly the Sinai Peninsula
.
Here's a breakdown of the key reasons:
  • Security Concerns:
    • Preventing Militant Infiltration: Egypt fears that a porous border could allow Hamas or other Palestinian militants into the Sinai Peninsula, potentially destabilizing the region where Egyptian military forces have previously battled Islamic militants.
    • Avoiding Conflict with Israel: A resurgence of militancy in Sinai could create a launching pad for attacks against Israel, jeopardizing the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel.
    • Maintaining Internal Stability: Egypt's regime has actively suppressed dissent, particularly from Islamist groups, and sees a connection between Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, which has been targeted by the government.
  • Concerns about Displacement of Palestinians:
    • Avoiding a Refugee Crisis: Egypt is wary of a mass exodus of Palestinians into its territory, fearing the long-term burden of supporting a large refugee population and the potential for increased instability in Sinai.
    • Opposing Permanent Resettlement: Egypt has repeatedly expressed strong opposition to any plans that could lead to the permanent resettlement of Palestinians from Gaza, viewing it as a potential erasure of the Palestinian cause.
  • Sovereignty and Border Control:
    • Rafah Crossing Control: Egypt wants to maintain control over the Rafah border crossing, which is a vital lifeline for Gaza but also a point of potential vulnerability. Egyptian authorities have been hesitant to open the crossing without guarantees about aid delivery and security arrangements.
    • Recent Closure: The Rafah crossing has been closed since Israeli forces advanced and seized control of it in May 2024, according to Doctors Without Borders. Egypt has insisted that Israeli forces must withdraw from the Palestinian side of the crossing before it can be fully reopened.
In summary, Egypt's blockade of Gaza is driven by a complex interplay of security concerns, including anxieties about militant infiltration and destabilization, coupled with a firm stance against the displacement of Palestinians into its territory.

I don't see a joke in you not knowing this common bit of knowledge. Or did I miss the sarcasm?

Yes you missed the sarcasm.   I usually don't use that much punctuation for instance.  My bad.

However, I bet Red Viking and Unc Bernie don't know!

They don’t care how anyone else treats Palestinian terrorists, only Jews.
