Why don't we sell (or lease) Israel 2 B2 stealth bombers and 4 or 5 of the GBU-57 (MOP) bombs. We can throw in a couple of pilots.

One thing I don't understand yet is why does it have to be a B2 that drops this bunker buster?   Is it that the bomb is too big for other bombers?  Is it the stealth?   B1 is faster and has some stealth, why can it not be used.   B52, ya no.

The wikipedia page for the bomb has a picture of one being deployed by a B52 in a test.  I think they are so big that only the B2 and the B52 will work and the actual bombs that were delivered for use were made to be used with the B2.

It seems to me the same people who don't want us involved in Ukraine because we don't want to get into WW3, also want to bomb the hell out of Iran, who is closely aligned with Russia and China.....even though Iran is nowhere closer to a nuke that could threaten us than they were years ago, according to our own intelligence agencies.

There is a difference.  In Ukraine we are directly opposing a nuclear armed superpower.

isreali intel (and we agree) suggested that iran making a bomb was a matter of weeks

which is why isreal was freaking out

Which is what they said at a briefing a year ago, and the year before that, and…..

According to OUR intelligence agency they are still at the same 60% they have been for years.

I’m sure we can find American officials that agree with Israel.  Like Israel there are American officials that want us to go to war with them.  For some, war is a money machine.

I don't think we go there.   The intel should flush out and present a clearer picture soon.   But I don't think Trump wants to get involved in a war.   Just not seeing it.

From what I’ve gathered, yes, it’s too big for other bombers and the B2 is the only one designed to deploy it with the guidance system able to accomplish accuracy.

Simpler answer:

The B-2 is the only airframe that won’t get blown out of the sky AND is capable of carrying the GBU-57.

The B-52 would work in uncontested airspace. Israel has likely destroyed a lot of Iranian IADS, but not all, and the B-52 has a big ass radar cross section and limited ability to counteract an incoming SAM.

Given its intended purpose, I’d wager the B-2 is a bit better off there.
