I’m sure this will have folks rolling their eyes but I’m genuinely curious. I get the Flo guys - they work for a media company. I get Willie - he travels, hustles, gets to know wrestlers at all levels, and surely a lot more. Ok. But I don’t get Pat Mineo. Did/does he wrestle/coach? Does he travel to events? Is he a sports writer? All I can find on the guy is his social media pages and the fact that he contributes various wrestling medias at times.

I think @nhs67had the best explanation last week.

Y’all are hilarious trying to pinpoint what’s “wrong” with Minnow.

He started this whole shtick in an old Facebook group called MMA Topics.  Some guy used to call him "Minnow" just to get under his skin, and he’d completely lose it - so, naturally, the name stuck.

Eventually, he got booted from that group because all he did was $hitpost, argue, and namecall.  But he realized something: $hitposting got attention.  And while most people saw him as just another combat sports troll, his real passion was always wrestling - actual wrestling.

Like him or not, agree or disagree, find him annoying or entertaining - doesn’t matter.  He’s got thousands of followers who eat up everything he posts, mostly because the ten before them did.  That’s how this pyramid scheme of his works.

It’s honestly kind of cool to see how far he’s come in 20 years.  He went from being a relentless Facebook troll who never admitted when he was wrong, to someone who's now breaking more stories than every website and journalist there is (not named Jawn Cena).  Sure, he still gets things wrong - he posts constantly, so the odds are what they are.  But unlike traditional media, he’s not tied down by anything.  That freedom lets him be fast, messy, and often right before anyone else catches up.

I’ve been as critical as anyone (hell, I brought the "Minnow" nickname over here to these streets). But I can’t deny the growth.  Nobody can.  The engagement is real.  He used to delete every other post; now he sets the pace in certain corners of the scene.

So yeah, there’s nothing really wrong with Minnow. He’s just a dude - bro who figured out how to troll the internet in a way that built a legit following.  People liked it - still like it - and he's run with it.

Ick.  I need a shower now.

I think this is what you're referring to, @Interviewed_at_Weehawken

He was a good wrestler in high school, 2x NJ state placer.  His brother is actually currently a successful high school coach in Rhode Island.

But Minnow is mostly just an expert content aggregator.  He has a few legitimate sources (mostly stemming from some guys from NJ or Lehigh Valley PA where he lives now), but I think he just gets most of his information from reading every single message board and following every single wrestler on all social media platforms.

I feel like brother was the state placer, abd Minnow was a 4x qualifier?

Looks like Minnow took an 8th in 07.  Pretty solid.

Pyle would be in a world of trouble.

I was one who said I would take Pyle.

I have to stand on that.

That said, Minnow is clearly and obviously a clear favorite.  Likely by domination, as I also think he is more powerfully built and athletic.  That leaves a lot to be questioned as to how Pyle would win.

He would need months to try to catch up on decades of instinct and it likely would fail.  Pyle would have to hope for a botched weight cut, as I think Minnow is probably a good weight class or two above him right now.

This. It seems like he has a day job according to LinkedIn, but all he does is create memes and post on Twitter and Facebook all day every day.

It's not really hard to pull this off in the modern, hybrid work model.  I bet he knocks out his daily tasks in the first 45 minutes of his shift.

Minnow admitting he has surrendered to countless people who mildly pushed back on something he said

lol.  Yup, I just got blocked this week and what I think did it was an extremely tame reply.

Pyles looks like he would get pinned by an 8th grader wrestling JV on their junior high team.

I have a day job and I still post on this dumb board during the day. If I can do it then Pete Minnow can too.

This could be one of those A > B > C > A

I imagine Brain beats Pyle due to sheer ferocity and willingness to live.

Then Pyle goes Rocky on Minnow somehow.

Then Minnow grubs Brain (sorry Brain).

Willie defiantly the more credentialed, but I worry about the gas tank.  If Pyles can survive the first period it could be rough for the Brain.
