What is the military parade commemorating?   250 years of the US Army, whose inaugural first 10 years was fighting for our independence.   That is the reason for the commemoration.   Seems like a noteworthy thing to do in a rational country.   Things are not rational in this country thus it makes one wonder if it is wise to do this.   Protesters should be welcome, law breaking not so much.

It should be 100% privately funded. Waste of taxpayer dollars. I don't care about it and neither does anybody I know, whatsoever. And I was in the military for 6 years. Honorable discharge w/ several awards. Never wanted to be a waste of taxpayer dollars though.

I can guarantee that he expanded whatever plans there were. There are literally military parades happening every week around the country. A pre-existing plan for a military parade of some sort doesn't mean anything. The size and cost associated with this particular one is the major issue.

Was there a major parade celebrating the Army's 200th birthday? 

This is pathetic. The Army is just one branch of the military and who else has a big birthday parade specifically for their military? Almost every country's military originated around the same time of the country itself so this is one of the dumbest things I can think of. A huge part of this is obviously the fact that it's Trump's birthday, even though we won't officially state that.

At least you are semi open to the fact that there was violence in the riots.  Just asking if there was damage to the federal buildings is a good step forward.

So what you are saying is that in the midst of the planning and Trump prosecutions, Trump was able to get Biden to start the planning for this 2 years ago and set it specifically for his birthday, which just happens to coincide with the date of establishment of the Army.   This has nothing to do with 250 years or that the Army started this effort 2 years ago.

I looked at this further.   The plans for the celebration were initiated 2 years ago.   To your point, the plan for the parade was initiated by Trump after he was inaugurated.   From an AI summary on a google search.
