Still wearing masks.  Unbelievable.

As an FYI: Air quality today was dogsh*t. Worst in years. Smoke from the Canadian wildfires combined with rainy conditions made it wet and everything smelled like burning.

Wasn't a riot.

It was civilian pushback when military level "somebodies" massively rolled into their neighborhood without any warning or known reason.

The civilians asked questions, and these "somebodies" gave them no answers as they grabbed up and hauled civilians away.

Undercover operations occur all the time. Police, Sheriff, etc. and they follow a protocol that is safe for them and safe for civilians. This was not one of those operations. We have a need for undercover operations. But this wasn't one of them.

This was a purposely staged public event used as a show of force by "somebodies" against civilians.

This is not OK.

Secret operations against civilians is the work of Russia or China, not the US. This was incredibly disappointing.

It doesn't matter if there are people with Auto-immune disease, tough guys don't wear masks!

Thems the rules!

It was a little creep how the guy filming it just randomly brought up that he thought they were stopping some human trafficking despite not having a clue what was going on.

I honestly think a lot of people WANT there to be more horrific stories of trafficking so they can claim these INSANE numbers they believe to be true...are in fact true.

Also very much an off-topic question, but I heard someone say this is "Native land," and...while it's not, it may have been, but...it's just not despite the pandering some do, I wonder if undocumented aliens could just go live in Tulsa or Oklahoma?

After the McGirt v. Oklahoma ruling, it found that the United States had entered a treaty and they'd broken that treaty. I'm sure most heard about this, but it returned jurisdiction to...MOST of Tulsa and most of the Eastern part of Oklahoma to Native Americans.

So...would ICE even be able to go in there? If I remember correctly, the Native American's basically agreed to maintain the status quo by in large, but I'm just curious if ICE or other federal agencies are allowed on there. This dates back to when it was the "Indians" land and the United States signed a treaty. I just wonder how strong that ruling was

The folks who brought us Tampon Tim and Jesse the body.

LOL...the Tampon Tim guys...the same guys who are probably too insecure to go buy their wives tampons because...'it's icky!'

The man served his country for over two decades, he was a teacher, football coach, he was just a happy, nice guy. Not the guy I'd pick(Mark Kelly wins the election IMO) but...whatever.

The governor’s wife probably had her windows open.  I believe she prefers the smell of burning tires, though.

Yes...I did.

I know SOMETHING about McGirt v Oklahoma.

I also ASKED the question, a genuine and honest question in good faith as to what authority ICE had there.

But since you quoted me where I said it returned jurisdiction to most of Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma(which it absolutely did as was the point of the lawsuit)....here's from the case.

Yes, the U.S. Supreme Court's 2020 decision in McGirt v. Oklahoma significantly impacted the legal landscape of eastern Oklahoma by affirming that a substantial portion of the state remains Native American reservation land.natlawreview.com

⚖️ Background of the Case

The case centered on Jimcy McGirt, a member of the Seminole Nation, who was convicted in an Oklahoma state court for crimes committed within the historical boundaries of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. McGirt argued that the state lacked jurisdiction. .en.wikipedia.org+7law.cornell.edu+7theguardian.com+7

🧾 The Supreme Court's Decision

On July 9, 2020, the Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision that the land reserved for the Muscogee (Creek) Nation since the 19th century remains "Indian country" for purposes of federal criminal law. Justice Neil Gorsuch, writing for the majority, emphasized that Congress had never explicitly disestablished the reservation, and thus, the state's jurisdiction over crimes involving Native Americans on this land was invalid. natlawreview.com+5scotusblog.com+5indianlaw.org+5natlawreview.com+3theguardian.com+3axios.com+3

📍 Scope of the Ruling

The decision reaffirmed the reservation status of approximately 3 million acres in eastern Oklahoma, including parts of Tulsa. While it did not transfer ownership of land or alter civil governance structures, it clarified that, for certain legal purposes, notably criminal jurisdiction, these areas are recognized as Native American reservations.

🔍 Implications and Subsequent Developments

The ruling has had profound implications:

------

So... no, I didn't have any idea to what extent the federal authorities could go on that land, but I DID know that the stated lacked jurisdiction.

I shared the part that I understood and ASKED about the part I was uncertain about.

And yes, I'm SOOO sorry I gave you a clown emoji for your....stupid little...quip.

Ya. As someone that lives near the Canadian border I’m well aware.  And the rain actually acts as a natural cleanser.   It had nothing to do with them hiding their faces huh?

You evidently don’t understand what you’ve read about it, therefore it probably wouldn’t be advantageous to bother looking into it any further.

Typically that’s what the rain does- not yesterday. That “smoke rain” was a relatively rare occurrence - you’re free to look that up on a relatively easy search to validate how rare yesterday’s air quality was. Local meteorologists explained it at length, too.

Just a couple shots from the local weather last night.

You can try to make the mask thing more than it is - and it might have been for a couple of those people - but ultimately it wasn’t a great time to be outside anywhere in the Twin Cities, walking your dog or otherwise.

Might have been for a couple?  You know this how ?  There are still kids in school near where I’m at. No masks required for the kids and I haven’t witnessed anyone wearing one.  Throw a protest out there in wokesterville MPLS and that’s what ya get.

Btw the weather gal up here said the rain would help with the smoke.

“The FBI went down to the infamous East Lake Street in south Minneapolis, near the epicenter of the 2020 George Floyd riots. Agents were there this afternoon to execute a court-ordered search warrant, in a high-risk criminal drugs and money laundering case.

Given the geography, the FBI wasn’t kidding around: Homeland Security and ATF agents were there for backup, with logistical support from the local police and Sheriff’s office. The FBI took no chances, bringing more than enough manpower, firepower, and horsepower.

But with DHS personnel involved, and the site being at or near a Mexican restaurant, false reports went out to the local activist community that a massive ICE raid was in progress.”

And the others two I watched (Marler and Shaffer, not the night time guy here) said “that’s usually the case, but today was a rare occurrence…” because the anchor asked “should the rain help this?”

I didn’t DVR the conversation. I ran out to grab lunch and some stuff from my northern suburban Home Depot. There were 3-4 masks between there and the mall - could have been the smoke, could have been whatever reason they want. I didn’t take pictures.

Sometimes people wear them, sometimes woke people wear them.

As far as the scene itself yesterday, depends on what forum poster you ask on what really happened.
