The investors are not known because Trump won't say who they are. But the largest ($16mm) goes by SUN and Justin Sun says that is him. Sun is the Chinese national who bought a huge slug of World Liberty, triggering a payout to Trump, and then shortly after got an SEC investigation of him dropped. That is much more blatant than a policy tie. That is quid quo pro.

And yes there is a policy tie, too.

Trump wants to start a strategic crypto reserve. All of these investors are crypto enthusiasts. Some of the coins Trump is proposing buying in the crypto reserve are real head scratchers.

Pumping up the president's meme coin to line his pockets and gain private access to him is a nice way to line their own pockets.

Gee, Mr. Pesident now that I have bought your coin it sure would be nice to add my coin to the reserve.
