I do not inherently disagree I do think Ladarion is in the same tier as PJ and Marcus in folk I thought he actually looked better during the folk season than he did at the open. Beating burton while bumping up a weight 9-3 I believe and beating Melvin 11-1 in the ironman finals. Robideau has a trajectory where I think he could still be making big improvements. He has always been good but not a top p4p guy until the last year. I think your argument for national titles is super valid I just don't know as good as Henkel and Cunningham are that they find themselves in the lineup for more than a year without some serious eligibility manipulation with grey shirts and medicals.

I think this is fair.  I have Lockett slightly behind Duke/Blaze in folk but you're right that his results this year have been fire in both styles.  I do have him as a likely NCAA titlist and you're probably right that they are the same overall tier.  But I do predict more titles overall from the PSU class, which makes me lean to them.

PJ Duke starts when and where he wants.

you guys aren't understanding me.

You really think Duke could beat Mesenbrink out for a spot this year?! No way that’s happening.

@Husker_Du PJ Duke is the best high school recruit since.............?

I can't speak for @Husker_Du. But Duke has battled some injuries throughout HS, so he doesn't have the some of the same accolades as some of the all-time great HS recruits (Spencer, Gable, Mark Hall, etc.). But in terms of upside and skill set, he's in that group in my eyes. Maybe one tier below, but it's splitting hairs imo.

Meyer Shapiro was a monster prospect. I'm not going to give a revisionist assessment of it.

At the time of graduation, I thought Meyer was ever bit the prospect Duke is.

I think people forget how amazing Mark Hall's age group freestyle accolades were.  Right up there with Spencer and Gable.

Meyer was the right guy to put #1 in 2023, and long term I still believe he will be the most accomplished freestyle wrestler of the class.

AA's from 2023 recruiting class:

2024 -- Rocco 2nd, Kasak 3rd, Stanich 5th, Bailey 4th, Watters 4th.

2025 -- Knox - 8th, Davis 5th, Stiles 6th, Fugitt 4th, Ruiz 5th, Kueter 8th,McEnelly 3rd, Barr 2nd, McDanel 8th, Kasak 3rd,  Blaze 2nd, Novak 5th, VRob 1st.

I may have missed somebody. Time will tell who will score the most NCAA points in the end.

Dang, half of that 2021 "top 30" didn't even start last year.  That's brutal.

Maybe I missed someone but I count just 5 AAs among that group (#s 3-6 and 30).

I thought Alejandro Herrera was going to win right away. Welsh was only a sophmore at the time and he was a senior but he was 5-0 against Welsh his senior year. He just seemed to have a college style.

Hamilton is in the NFL now, Milano quit wrestling and is doing MMA, Mastro and McCrary idk what they are doing atp, Vandervere has 12 career matches in college, Picklo is going to NAIA, Jagger has 19 matches in his career against D1 guys and is 8-11. Just some crazy career paths in the top 30. Not anything against Willie, just shows how crazy the class as a whole was

Identifying talent is super hard. Look at the NFL. Everyone and their mom can agree that this one guy should go #1 overall, yet they can't hold down a starting spot. There are so many top ten overall busts.

More people should try to put a big board together. I would bet that most people's boards would like pretty similar.

Yes, it really is difficult.  It's hard enough just doing it based on observable abilities at a given point of time, but it is much more than that.  Things like burnout, growth spurts, improvement trajectory, academics, injuries, partying, etc. can all come it to play when looking back at a board years later.
