To qualify for the rankings a wrestler muat have 8 matches against D1 opponents (who are also not teammates). So there are a lot of wrestlers who haven't hit that criteria yet, but will. Spencer Lee, RBY, and Yianni Diakomihalis are missing, for example.

So we all know these ranking are flawed but if you only used these data what would the data wizardry show for current team rankings?

It could show Rutgers in first place, but who’d pay any more heed to it than they do the individual rankings?  They’re obviously flawed.  Unless that’s the minimum requirement for entering the tournament.

52.1 points to win.  When’s the last time that happened?

52.1 plus bonus.

The first place team usually scores around 24 bonus points. But that seems unlikely if you only score 52 advancement and placement points, so lets call it 15 bonus. That gets you around 67 total.

The last time that would have won was 1960 when the tournament was only scored to four places and first place was only worth 10 points. But this way is more democratic.

I think the coaches are on to something.

The way to keep PSU off the podium is to keep them out of the tournament.

That's what I'm talking about, wouldn't that be a fun tournament.  The coaches have spoken, those other guys don't qualify🙂

I'll take PSU as a dark horse to win it all

I will take the other side of that bet. Put me down for $1 trillion in a basket of LUNA, UST, and a few coins I will invent if I lose the bet.

Why isn't Cronin (Nebraska) on the Coaches 125# Ranking ?

What am I missing here ?  WKN, anybody ?

Sure seems like an oversight. He has enough matches and was 13-2 at the time of the vote.

I'm sure I speak for many on these here boards in saying we really question your commitment to the scream when you don't throw a ! behind it.

Seems so.  How do the Coaches have an “oversight” on a wrestler just coming off consecutive wins against the Intermat #3 & #4 (DeAugustino & McKee) literally days before the Ranking.  Lol.
