I hate it because PSU is too good already.

I freaking love it since we can see Ono more and having him in the college sport is going to be a blast.

Love it to see how he adjusts to the funk roll etc. defense that doesn’t fly with freestyle.  
 

Just another great set of story lines … but damn …. Anyone but Penn State.

Bet he is getting some big $$$$.

It’s going to be a very cool experience for him.  Excited for him.

A lot of these kids do not seem to want to RS Blaze seems like a team guy so I bet he will do whatever the coaches ask but if they leave it up to him I think he picks where he goes and the other guys may be SOL.

My random thoughts about Ono

Ono will be 22 at next years NCAA Championships

PSU won't need his team points to win NCAAs next year.  He only adds about 5-10 more points to their total than if Davis or Nagao go. 

So this move allows Davis to redshirt, which doesn't seem necessary, but may help him get a title in his RS Sr year.

If Ono wants to wrestle for you, I don't know how you turn it down.

Also Crazy, let teams enter two at each wieght like swimming allows for multiple entrants for the same event.  PSU blue and white teams, Iowa black and gold teams, Ok State orange and even uglier orange, etc.

It’s not at all clear how good Ono is at folkstyle. It’s not even clear he can beat Davis or Nagao. (In freestyle, of course, only guys like Uetake and Smith are even comparable.)

Nevertheless, Blaze and Ono will only improve one another.

Now watch the NCAA syndicate do the MLB money grab that they've done with the LA Dodgers and send Penn State over to Japan for duals with a couple of the unis there. 

And as I'm sure Jimmy C knows, Coach Oishi would probably be the better tutor/translator for Ono

News flash: every team's goal is to win every weight.    

Even with that, PSU only got 3 the finals and one had the quirk of a 5th year of eligibility and NCAA tourney opportunity.  The sport is healthy and PSU dominance is not "ruination."

You might be right.  I didn't really follow him closely until he arrived at Penn State.  If he has no more redshirt years, I guess we know who will be hitting  the portal.
