Watched an interview with him. He was in a coma and almost died? At some point he might want to think about hanging it up. I remember when Frishkorn was at Oklahoma State and had to sadly walk away over similar issues.

Oh, I thought this was going to be about when he insinuated in the video that Kasak was using steroids.

Is this just a thing? Because that has dawned on me...multiple times in the past few weeks.

You look at him as a 138 who was supposed to be a '41 pounder, went '49 because SVN got hurt. Now he's a big '57 and he's got so much acne he needs blood time.

But I don't like to do...exactly what I just did and throw out aimless accusations or claims...

Do not think the grave risk goes away for him.  He has nothing to prove and should start the golf or squash portion of his athletic activities.   Great wrestler - unlucky w head injury.

Also the insane feats of strength you see in his matches.... I know theses guys are strong but he seems to be on a different level.

He did say in the video that the medical team thinks that his seizure and problems are unrelated to his concussions. But just the timing of everything you would think there is a correlation.

And he should have been a 141 last year. That was his weight but Bartlett was there.

I remember being told by a trainer and dietician that...just about the max of pure, actual musce fiber you cn

I don't know if that's a hard and fast rule and Kasak was still young, so maybe he went through a bit of a growth spurt AND he did all the lifting and I have no doubt he did it better than I did, had a trainer changing up his program every 6 weeks to shock his muscles...

But man, he looks SO much different than the 138 pound kid...

You can also be sucking weight and not feeding your body what it needs and then when you start and you lift seriously, you can make big jumps. Msot of these guys are huge, so...again, don't want to single anyone out(but I realize I kinda am).

I don't know if you guys noticed, but Kasak's cheeks looked grey/splotchy in his 3rd place match. Is that a side effect of PEDs? Maybe he just has a skin condition.

Weird direction of the thread.  Kasak’s always had a muscular frame.  Even when he was at 65KG.   Just looks like he started eating more and cutting less.  I’m sure when he was 141 he was coming down from 155 or so.  Now I doubt he goes much over 160.  Nothing from certifications this year indicated he was a big 157.

But I get it.  Dake had to hear the same chatter.

Yeah...you're ...kinda right. I mean, he was at 141 to start last year(barely beating David Evans 2-1 TB), but...whatever. He's at an age where he can fill out and that's usually so much better for Wrestlers rather than to keep cutting.

It's in poor taste to speculate.

Though...I will speculate he gets WELL over 160. He's not just cutting 3 pounds or he'd have taken a RS and let Facundo Wrestle. He's one of the bigger '57's in the Country....and last years '57 is a big '74.

Blaze looked significantly larger

IMO, Haines looked smaller than most people he wrestled.

He was dwarfed by Kharchla.

Certainly looked smaller than Kennedy yesterday.

I guess there's different builds, pasty white guys don't usually look as defined. This...isn't meant to be racist, but you look better when you're tan right? So black guys for instance look bigger. But Kharchla also has always been a tank. Haines jumped up from '57. I know he was also really sucking down. Kasak on the other hand was still a '41 even during what was set to be a RS year.

But, Kharchla also came down from '65(and even '74 I thought). He's a big dude also.

Shapiro also looks like I did in 6th grade. I was about 6' tall in 6th grade, ~150 and very little muscle...obviously.

That's a kid who should...take a year off of school, spend some time with iron andlet his brain heal and then come back as a '74. His movement and instincts are incredible, but you also have to make grown men do things they don't want to do...and that's easier when you're stronger than those grown men(or least close).

'57 should have been Kasak and Shapiro. That was the 2nd more obvious 1-2 matchup of the tourney...IMO. Guess not.

This is why it’s so important to show appreciation and build connections with all young athletes, so they can see and understand that they have value and identity that they appreciate outside the sport.

Guys who are missing that take unnecessary risks to hang onto the only thing they value about themselves.
