Jimmy buddy, you gotta know there’s no way Cael would let AJ anywhere near that room. If I was the only other option, he still wouldn’t. Culture culture culture. I don’t think you’ll ever see Barr at anything other than 197. He’ll continue to grow into it. I’m not a huge Mirasola guy, not sure what happens there going forward.

UNI

125: Anderson

149: Don't know

165: RJ Weston maybe?
174: Simma
184: CJ Walrath?
197: Voelker
285: Grant Stromberg

Won't be any true freshmen that will fill any gaps in this lineup as Schwab redshirts everyone. Kind of hard to imagine UNI getting a transfer who will start as that's not really UNI's vibe, but it's happened before. Should be solid at 125, 133, 141, 157, 174, and 197, but unless they get a transfer, 149 will probably be a black hole.

I remember people being high on Weston last year but he never cracked the lineup for reasons I can't remember - maybe he just got beat out by Downey and Thomsen. Walrath is supposed to be decent, I think. Stromberg probably has a ways to go before he's a solid D1 heavyweight.

Will be interesting to see how Schwab and staff take their success this year and build on it. Can probably assume they'll be solid at 184, whoever it is. So 149, 165, and heavyweight are probably the biggest questions.

How about Gunderson at 184?

I think Garvin is headed to Ann Arbor.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see Cardenas head out as well.

Hardy loses a lot of advantages at 149 that he has at 141.  Mainly his length.  At 27 years of age, I find it hard to believe he can add 8lbs of functional muscle.

Edit: Also, he might be thr favorite at 141lbs anyways.  I wouldn't be surprised to see Mendez head to 149lbs for lineup purposes at tOSU.

VT

125: Eddie Ventresca

133: Dillon Campbell (Seidel will contend)

141: Tom Crook

149: Caleb Henson

157: Rafael Hipolito

165: Mac Church (Torres could get a shot)

174: Gage Wright

184: Transfer or Ryan Burton

197: Sonny Sasso

HWT: Jimmy Mullen

Depending on how things shake out, I could see Robie bringing in 1-2 transfers to compete at 133, 165, or 184. Hope TJ returns, but he wasn’t in Philly this past weekend (at least I didn’t see him) and hasn’t been seen on VT social media since the ACCs. Hope Mac takes a step forward. He made a massive jump from 141 to 165 last offseason. Adding strength this offseason will help better compete next season.

Not sure if Burton or Seidel will be ready to start at true freshmen, but they will given an opportunity. Connor McGonagle’s AA should help us get the attention of lighter weight transfers if we got that route

Are you suggesting the Focus' deadlift numbers prevent him from having success in dodgeball?

No, the LDS church denounces acting upon same-sex attraction and AJ broke the rules yesterday. Cael knows. He can probably throw a bit, New Jersey has great LL baseball programs and Texas is elite.

I hate to say it, but I think Stewart is gone!  The fanbase rubbed Papa the wrong way.

You’re absolutely right. Some people think Voelker could bump up to heavyweight, which could make room for both Walrath and Gunderson at 184 and 197.

Nothing would surprise me anymore when it comes to 20 year olds and large bags of money, but I think this is a stretch.  Hope I'm right.

Not the first time I’ve seen the Garvin to AA smoke, wonder what it’s stemming from.

The Garvin rumblings are loud.  Real loud.

The Cardenas ones were louder ~six months ago.  Not sure where he was headed, though.  Maybe North Carolina to follow Koll?

Making an amendment to my original post since this is public. TJ has a sick family member and did not attend the NCAAs. Rough year for TJ and his family.

Say a prayer if you can for the Stewart family.
