I’d say if they lose two of their three blood round matches and five of the seven semis, could still be iffy. A failure rate like that might keep things open deeper into Saturday. But also depends of course on what Nebraska and OSU do. If Nebraska keeps having rounds like they just had, could still be in doubt to start tomorrow.

As was covered a week or two ago, we're talking about the reliably best tournament team having everything go totally wrong and a generally underachieving tournament team having everything go totally right, and then PSU probably still wins by more than a few points.

The team races for 2nd and 4th are where the action is at and are pretty interesting.  I lean toward OSU beating Nebraska in a statement weekend for the Cowboys, but I wouldn't bet much on it.

As I've stated all along, Penn states light weights aren't very good. Coaching for those weights is average too

By comparison to their upper weights which are the absolute Mt. Rushmore of wrestlers and coaches.

Nico/RBY/Nick Lee/Zain/Molinaro/Nolf etc. probably still better than any other program.

And I note that Haines, who won last year as a lower weight, had Cody, following him up, in his corner yesterday at 174.

Even if you quibble with Nolf and Haines as "middle weights" not "light weights" PSU is still top tier at the lower weights.

What are you doin, why? I don’t know if trolling or not, but it’s just a ridiculous take. You said the same thing last year and I believe the only team that outscored them in the lighter weights was NC State.

But yeah, like dragot said, there’s five more weights that make the team where they’re unparalleled. I just don’t understand why you continue to take these shots.

It is just his thing. He haaaaates Penn State with a red hot passion. That the 3 lightest weights for PSU scored enough to finish 18th last year, and more than doubled Nebraska's 3 lightest weights just makes the hate glow brighter.

Look at the light weights. Davis and lildahl have great shot going down

Nevermind, I was completely wrong. Penn State scored 70 points in the lighter weights last year, Nebraska 48.5. NC State was in the mid-20’s. You’re doing the same thing again. Missed what happened in the dual again I guess too? So weird

Well maybe lol, it doesn’t mean they’re average and have *I poop my pants, don't laugh at me*ty coaches. Does marginalizing and chunking their lighter weights make you feel better about Nebraska losing? I think I need to just ignore going forward

That’s a sad way to live, he should read the Four Agreements and Anatomy of Peace🙂

I predicted 3 losses in the quarters but even I am shocked.

#1 Lilledahl loses to #8 Seymour, who Lilledahl beat earlier

#8 Davis is dominated 12-1 by #1 Byrd (not surprised by this one)

#1 Kasak looks winded at the whistle and loses to #8 Blaze

I expect Barr and Kerk to lose too.

Jimmy: why don't you just admit that you love to hate PSU even though you pretend to be a fan?  There is always a  veiled kind of celebration in your predictions and reactions about Penn State's losses "demise".   If going 27-3 through 3 rounds is "implosion", what would be a total collapse ....  26-4?  LL was about as close as you can get to a win in the quarters.   Kasak somehow just blew it at the end, and BD was not expected to win agains the #1 guy.  i think you need to find a team to actually root FOR rather than being such a, well, bipolar fan.

Yeah, they certainly are imploding. I mean, they only lead (as of typing this) by 25 points. At this rate, they may only win the tournament by 75. What a travesty.

Jimmy stop you dork

Absolutely. He is a dork, and he keeps doubling down, and PSU keeps proving him wrong.

He reacts will glee when Lightning Luke and Davis go down and predicts that Barr and Kerk will also lose.

When Barr MAJORS Beard, not a peep out of him.

When Kerk rolls, not a peep out of him.

Jimmy, this is the NCAA Championship Tournament. Everyone is tough. Top seeds like Luke lose tough matches at times. He could still wrestle back for third and score more team points. Davis performed better than most expected, especially you, who predicted, I believe, an "0-2 barbecue".

I'm pleased to see that guys who looked injured in the B10/B12 tourneys like Barr and Hendrickson are looking pretty healthy now. I watched O'toole's interview after his come-back win in the round of 16 and he is obviously hampered by his injuries; he said it openly. It could affect his performance.

All well-deserved props to Nebraska for an excellent performance.

Turn up the heat. The semis are here.

Been saying this all year. "Best team ever"

They’re going to have to 10 AAs. Maybe they break the record they set last year or maybe they don’t. But that’s hardly a win for the PSU haters.
