How has defending champ Richie Figs looked this year?  I know he has two losses and did not win the Pac-12, and I know Luke Lilledahl is more talented than Braeden Davis, but I can't hope but be fearful that Figs will dethrone yet another #1 seed from Penn State at 125 like he did to Davis last year.

one loss was a MFF and yes he laid an egg in the opening round of the Big 12s but he came back and tore thru the back of the bracket like all the other 125ers owed him money. I think that loss may have been an eye opener, he looks like the best 125er in the tourney for my money, I'm picking him over Ramos in the final.

Full disclosure: I'm an ASU diehard but I feel like I'm probably being fairly objective here.

But will we have to watch him wrestle with 1 leg out of bounds for 7 minutes again. Yup, I said it.

He did not win a match at Pac-12s.

It’s incredible how poorly the entire Sun Devil team did at the PAC 12s this year. It’s like they didn’t even show up for that tourney.

Against the field in that quad(group of 16), it’s unlikely he makes it to that point. He’s not even the highest seed(Robinson). So statistically I’d say no. Lilledahl getting to that point is no gimme either, if he makes it to Smith/Seymour it’ll likely be very close.

I've watched Figs a good deal this year. When he's on he's definitely one of the best at 125, but he's also prone to inconsistency. He lost to a guy with a losing record last week at conference, and it wasn't by a fluke pin (he lost 4-2). Basically a losing (and very boring) wrestler shut Figs down completely. That doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.

I'd pick Robinson over Figs. I'd pick Spratley over Figs and I'm not even sure Spratley will make AA. I'd pick several guys over him, actually, not just those 2.

I bet he loses to Peterson

Is Peterson healthy enough to make any kind of run ?  He mff to 6th place after getting hurt in the QF.

First of all, to do that, wouldn't he have to get to the semis AND lose there?

(THEN do the semifinal-swoon to eventual 6th place finish?)

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

He already did that.  @Show_Me was referring Peterson's B1G performance.

I was thinking the projection of the NCAA's next week... & not the recent B1G tourney.

tanxs for the clarification, lu_alum.

Yup. All that losing in the QF guarantees is an R12 finish.
