People who had AJ favored over Buchanan before PAC12s..........do you still favor AJ at NCAAs?

Expand

I had Buchanan over AJ, as well as Cardenas and Barr.

Now I have AJ over all three.  None of them are as fast or strong enough, unfortunately (for me rooting for Barr).

At the end of the day Ferrari never gets taken down or ridden.  He'd lose to AJ from a few years ago and isn't as sharp, but that AJ isn't in the bracket.

If he doesn't get a TD, that stall ride gets him the minute of riding time.  His doubles allow him to score quickly and avoid scrambling.

He's the favorite in my book.  The best bet is someone like Barr wearing him down and taking neutral to not screwing around wasting so much time on mat wrestling.  People need to stop going under him in 0TD matches.

Can he lose?  Absolutely, but in any individual match he's the favorite in my eyes.  His playbook is hard to beat

True 2nds at HWT, 125 and 133

True 2nds at 285 and 125 only.

CSUB's Castro-Sandoval - the # 3 seed at 125 - Pinned the # 1 seed (Cal Poly's Koda Holeman)

At 285 Jake Andrews - the # 1 seed (who was in an Urgent Care facility on Wednesday of this week due to illness) beat Oregon State's Brett Mower 4-1 in SV # 1.

Hate him or love him, AJ is a very positionally sound wrestler with a great gas tank. For all the talk of people wearing him down, I cannot think of any match where his gas tank has been an issue.

Little got to him with his sweep single on the edge in the first period to force that stall call out of bounds. I think you are right about going under him....I think the best option is what Little did and then be patient to finish.

Whether people like it or not, AJ has done his part this year to get his career back on track. He has, for the most part, kept his behavior in check, dialed it down and wrestled pretty tough last night against #7. Unless a train wreck happens leading up to or in Philly, I see him getting some good NIL and moving on. I am sure that Iowa is #1 on his list, but is he #1 on Iowa's list.

Are you thinking that Elam may get the preferred treatment as the 197lber for them next year?

I was kind of hoping Elam would go 285 wherever he went.

That's what some think. Will Iowa let AJ in this year after a year of good behavior?  I guess Bob has a decision he needs to make.

He does seem to be making a serious effort regarding his behavior, which is good for everyone. Everyone loves a good comeback story. I'm rooting for him.

Bump, Stout takes bottom in the 3rd period a 0TD match, per the script he gets ridden and loses.

Agree, that was stupid. Best case scenario he still needs a TD, should have taken neutral
