A Statement from President Donald J. Trump

“We had a very meaningful meeting in the White House today. Much was learned that could never be understood without conversation under such fire and pressure. It’s amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace.”

This was truly embarrassing, probably nothing more than JD, desperately trying to get in the inner circle, demanding to know whether Zelenskyy had said "thank you. "

I mean.  We literally gave him bazillions of dollars I’m sure weren’t laundered by the corrupt ruling class of Ukraine…. And I’ll bet he wants more.   A thank you may be in order.   Just sayin.

When you contradict Trump in front of people he reacts this way. Such a stable genius who is a master negotiate. Must be why he was specifically forbidden from participating in the bankruptcy deal on his casino. 🤣

JD tried to school Zelensky and when Zelensky corrected the timeline of events, JD got pissy and said it's "disrespectful to litigate this in front of the American media". What a joke

Trump should have asked him where the missing money is.

Many of Trump's floundering companies were given debt relief on the specific grounds that Trump no longer be in charge of them. In 1991 the Taj Mahal hotel casino escaped bankruptcy when he gave up 50 percent of his ownership. In 1992 the Trump Plaza Hotel filed Chapter 11 and was forgiven some of its debt when Trump gave up 49 percent of his stock and was demoted to an unpaid "chief executive," forbidden from being involved in the day to day running of the company. That's the corporate version of being told to go do "free reading" in the corner while the class gets on with math.

Yet we let this same person pretend he's a good businessman?

For someone who pretends to be smart you are a dip$hit. Literally less than 2% of all of Trumps businesses have filed bankruptcy and that isn't what this thread is even about but keep on with your BS like always. Your dad's lawyer money obviously wasn't spent on education because you can't even spell embarrass or negotiator.

So did Zalensky get thrown out on his ear?  I don't know.     I heard the audio and it was pretty startling really, I don't think any politico from the US has ever taken down a politico from somewhere else like that.   It was embarrassing for both parties.   For Trump and Vance that lost their cool and Z who thought he could waltz in and grab money without doing anything for it like he always has.

Z  agreed to a mineral rights deal and the next day said no.   Really bugged Rubio to no end.   So already not in a good place when coming to the white house.   Did he expect Trump to roll over after the bait and switch on mineral rights?  I think Z ran into a situation he was unprepared for and it did not work in his favor.

He has said thank you, multiple times, and praised the prior administration.  This administration has been in office for less than 2 months and hasn't done anything but publicly praise Putin and pretend that Ukraine started the war.  Vance was demanding that Zelenskyy say thank you to Trump.  For what?  He acted like a toddler and he was trying to look tough in front of his boss because he's been mostly excluded from all the Cool Kid MAGA stuff.  Trump, when asked last week, wouldn't even say he would support Vance as his "heir apparent."

So lets throw away all my feelings and opinions on the current administration buddying up to Putin and even my supposition on why Vance was behaving that way.  Lets focus on the actual issue here:  Zelenskyy has thanked America, multiple times, for supporting Ukraine's defense efforts.  Vance was demanding Zelenskyy thank Trump, who has been in office for less than 2 months and has objectively done nothing for Ukraine.  Even if you believe that Trump is justified in not doing anything for Ukraine, what the hell is he supposed to thank Trump for?

I would agree Trump hasn't done much for Ukraine and there is not a real reason why he should. I would say he could say thank you for accepting access to rare minerals as payback instead of at the bare minimum paying back the $100B that went missing, but Zelensky backed out of that deal. You can draw your own conclusions as to why.

$100B went missing?

Here’s a softball: how much currency has the US sent Ukraine?

Maybe seeing him after the issues that have come up recently.   And seeing him in the oval office no less.

I'm not hard wired one way or the other here.   Trump is doing something different than just giving money.   He is actively trying to end the conflict it appears to me.   Securing mineral rights seems like a non NATO kind of security agreement where Russia is against NATO in Ukraine.      It is a different tactic.

The article I read said of the $175B that was sent Zelensky claimed to only have received $75B. However the $175B number is obviously inaccurate. What's the actual number since you are apparently the accountant for Ukraine?

I'm not even arguing the politics of this.  I'm aware many people don't want to send any funding or weapons to Ukraine.  Demanding that another country's leader say thank you to your boss for meeting him (if that's the reason you think) is ridiculous, petulant, and beneath the dignity of the country.  That's how I talk to children, not to peers.
