Real question: do Flo rankings have a discernible or tangible influence over actual seedings? If not, fine; then they're content for the fans and a topic for debate on message boards. I agree with the OP though: I can't quite get my head around Block at 18. Even 125 for the Hawks is showing some glimmers of hope--141 not so much.

I know intermat's rankings are used for seeding purposes at both the Scholastic and Collegiate level.  I cannot think of an instance where Flo's is used.

Not in an official manner for seeding purposes, though.

If coaches use Flo's to make their own, that is laziness.

Well to pick on intermat at the same weight, they currently have Chris Cannon #33 at 141.  He is 1-5 with his only win against someone from Northern Illinois that is redshirting.  He hasn’t beaten a D1 starter since 2023, down a weight.

In Cannon's defense he has a history, being a 2x all-American.  In Block's case he is 2-4 for his career and missed all of last year.

That’s not the same guy.  This version of Chris Cannon got pinned by a guy who is 2-4 this year and 5-14 for his career
