What I’ve been reading here is that people have been made to believe FEMA is an insurance company, at the detriment of not understanding what FEMA is and is not.  Makes sense now.

Insurance is part of their responsibility.   Rapid response is part of their responsibility.  Emergency preparedness is part of their responsibility.  Distributing recovery and reconstruction grants and loans are part of their responsibility.  It’s possible that they’ve become too big, too distracted or misdirected since becoming part of Homeland Security, but what you’re hearing here is that they are an all around failure.

FIRED FEMA WORKER ACCUSED OF SKIPPING HOMES WITH TRUMP SIGNS SAYS SHE WAS FOLLOWING PROTOCOL

Not sure, I wasn't there.  I tend to leave something like this based on my own experiences, not on media stories.   I'll leave that to those who can't decide if its a day we shouldn't trust the media, or if its a day that things in the media give us all warm fuzzies.   It's a revolving door with some of ya'll.

I'm guessing if FEMA survives, they won't pass over those with Trump signs anymore.   There are too many reports of this kind of activity with Helene in various part of the eastern seaboard, with this person admitting to doing it as part of FEMA and stating that it was standard procedure to avoid hostile situations.   They determined homes with Trump signs to be hostile before talking to the victims of the storm there.

Offthemat - you are missing the point.   The fires and their destruction are not the fault of the government, period.  No amount of information to the contrary is allowed or will be processed.   All that does in disrupt the narrative a certain group is trying to make stick.

It doesn't matter if the reservoir was dry and closer to the fire.   If it had been full there would have been less pipe flow resistance because of the shorter pipes because the reservoir was closer.   That's  not the government's fault.

It doesn't matter if the grasses and shrubs surrounding the area were cut short or not.   Short or tall grasses and shrubs all burn the same.   That's not the government's fault.

It doesn't matter if The Fire Budget was decreased.   That's not the government's fault.

It doesn't matter if the governor let the volunteers go.   That's not the government's fault.

It doesn't matter if the bond measure that passed 6 years ago to raise taxes to increase reservoir volume was never started, that is not the government's fault.

What is it that you don't understand?

But why wasn't he arrested in August?

Of the 6 in the video, it looks like 1 was arrested in Aurora in September by Aurora PD, 2 by DHS in NYC in November, 1 in Aurora in December by Aurora PD, and now this guy in NYC by DHS. 1 remains at large.

I was told this was a hoax and that wasn't really happening at the time.

I saw it on local area news at the time.  Looked real to me.

Boy they were able to get around unfettered.   It must be easy being an illegal alien felon.   Or at least it used to be.

4/5 were arrested under the previous administration and 2 by local law enforcement.

I imagine being part of an international gang with operations in a number of states aids your ability to avoid capture.

4 of 5 were done by the previous admin?   2 were local PD, 2 were DHS.   So that woudl be 2/5 were done by the previous admin.

And why is it that ICE is getting literally hundreds now?  Why didn't local PDs or DHS get them before now?

The time period was the previous administration.

It looks like there were lots of arrests happening before. I would imagine 2024 data is not complete on this chart.

FACT: immigrants (illegal and legal) have a lower crime rate than regular citizens.

Fact.  100% of illegal aliens commit crimes.  I’ll show you federal govt proof.

Nice punt. Obviously I'm excluding that. shouldn't even have to say that.

Your chart is misleading.   Here is another chart for you:

They had similar apprehension numbers according to your chart but vastly differing amounts of incoming with Biden way higher, 2 and 3 times higher.   You can imagine it was easy for Biden to get his numbers as the amount he let in vastly outweighed those he caught.   You might try to show the total picture rather than trying to cherry pick to your advantage.

RV, why are they called illegal aliens in the law?

1.  They are aliens, meaning they do not belong to the USA.

2.  They illegally entered the country they do not belong to.  They are illegally in the USA.   Just by being here, and having illegally entered, they have broken US law and are therefore criminals.  Even CNN says so.

https://www.cnn.com/2017/02/24/politics/undocumented-immigrants-not-necessarily-criminal/index.html

Under federal law, it is a crime for anyone to enter into the US without the approval of an immigration officer – it’s a misdemeanor offense that carries fines and no more than six months in prison.

Not a punt.  Just the facts.

You asked about a raw number, that's what I went looking for. I'm not usually trying to cherry pick for my advantage, I'm trying to better understand a situation. Next time I will try to predict what you want not just what you say.

Did I bring context to your assertion?   I think so.   You're welcome.
