I just don't see the actual advantages for users over Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts.

Call me an unrepentant nationalist, but if someone is going to be collecting more information about what I do on my phone than I'm comfortable with, they better be an American company!

i don't have Tik Tok and really don't know much about the controversy.

that being said, i'm a bit confused. 

i thought the R's hated China and the D's thought that it was overblown.

comments in this thread suggest otherwise. (which is, frankly, refreshing)

the guy who wrote the ban / proposal for tik tok just got caught investing in us based social media sites.  Defo need a stock trading ban for all congress peoples.    He dropped 1.1 million into Facebook.
