If Sasso returns to form and Welsh wrestles 184, there's 2 guys that leap into the top 5, maybe even top 3 at 165 and 184. Put also into perspective the impact Davino can have at 133 if TR lets him loose. This team can be right there with Iowa and Nebraska for a top 3 finish.

For shitz & gigz:

125: McCrone maj Cruz 4-0 0SU

133: Ayala dec. Bouzakis 4-3 OSU

141: Mendez maj. Block- 8-3 OSU

149: Parco dec D'Emilio 8-6 OSU

157: Teemer maj Gallagher 8-10 Iowa

165: Caliendo dec Sasso 8-13 Iowa

174: Kharchla dec Brands 11-13 Iowa

184: Welsh dec Arnold 14-13 OSU

197: Buchanon maj Geog 14-17 Iowa

Hvy: Feldman dec Kueter 17-17 TIE.

Big tossup matches 165 and 174. Would love to see how Davino goes against Ayala, but I think Bouzakis is the man at 133.

dang, I didn't realize it could be that competitive.

I'm thinking Mendez has a real shot of scoring more than just a major against Block, unfortunately. On the flip side, based on what he did to Stemmet, I think it's possible Buch TFs Geog. It also remains to be seen what kind of form Sasso gets back into, if he wrestles at all. That could be bonus point territory for Iowa. Overall, this could be a much more fun dual than I initially thought and, with all the caveats you mentioned, the Tom Ryan University can indeed contend for a trophy

If what happened last year is any indication, the answer has to be yes.

Based on seeds Cornell was in the 4-8 range, with <1 point separating fourth from eighth, and NC State was a clear favorite to finish second. Cornell had a great tournament and finished second while NC State severely underperformed and dropped all the way down to twelfth.

Ohio State also had a strong performance at last year's tournament, beating their seeds at five weights and matching at three weights. Rinse and repeat.

I dont think Bouzakis is the man at 33. I think Ben will get the nod after Clarion.

I'm not sure sammy being back matters a ton in the dual certainly in March. I think Peterson goes at 125 but until we see him hard to know for sure. Even if Davino does not start I could see them using him for this dual given he gets 5 dates. Kharchla over Brands feels like a true toss up to me Nelson has not looked great but I expect him to at least get marginally better as the season goes on and its hard to tell where Kharchla is at. I gave Arnold the edge over Welsh because I think he had his number in high school and I dont expect either guys to open up against one and other.
