RV is trying to redefine what mainstream media means.   It no longer means ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, NYT, WAPO etc.   It means Rogan, AM radio, Fox.  It is an interesting argument but one that I don't think holds any weight.

I think that when identifying mainstream news, it is silly to say Rogan is mainstream because nobody says, it was on Rogan's podcast so it must be correct news.   Same with AM radio.

Fox may be different but those that are on the left will dismiss anything found on Fox just like some here dismiss anything found on tiktok.

Who does everyone in the US think of when you say mainstream media?    ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, PBS, MSNBC, CNBC, NYT, WAPO, LATimes.    Very few will think of FOX, Rogan, or AM radio.

Without using data, I'd say Fox is mainstream.  AM radio is alternate news.  FM radio would seem to have more traffic than AM radio.  AM radio sports is probably much higher consumed than talk radio.  Its possible that church talk is higher than conservative talk in some rural areas.  X is a platform to access links to mainstream news but largely offers alternative news and citizen journalism.

Pew Survey Results say Fox is mainstream.

But the question is if Fox, AM radio, and Rogan represent mainstream news?   That is the proposition RV is putting out there.

I agree, Fox is much more viable in this than the others.

It IS the mainstream media that's telling you about the left wing media bias. Hilarious. Think about it and quit being sheep.

Joe Rogan is more entertainment than news.  Now some of his discussions do make the news.

Apparently AM radio shows have a larger audience than I'd suspected.  Note that there is no scientific measurement though...  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most-listened-to_radio_programs

Most popular podcast in the world, so plenty of whacko wingers using that as their main source of info, along with the most popular news station in the world, Fox.

When you're #1 in the world for your type of information & news, you're "mainstream." Go ahead and spin it how you want though. That's all the wingers do anyway.

You are conflating definitions.   mainstream meaning watched most or mainstream meaning most outlets.   Using the latter definition, Fox is definitely not mainstream.   CBS, NBC, ABC, WAPO, NYT, CNN and others are mainstream because they generally say the same thing.   MSNBC is an outlier like Fox but more closely linked to the others in content.
