How I know leftists think the middle east is peaceful

I've never thought it was peaceful. Too many people who hold a lot of grudges for varying reasons who are just waiting for a chance to do something. When Saddam got taken out look what happened. All the various factions had their chance to do something without worrying about Saddam killing them. Pretty much everyone else is the same. Just watch what happens if the kingdom ever goes to shit. The only reason it hasn't is because of oil. See how many royal factions try to take out the others or something. The best we can hope for is that whatever is going on there, stays there and doesn't impact the rest of the world, whether economically or terrorism.

Is it possible Iran miscalculated?   Israel has torn Hamas apart, that job is almost complete.   And then when Hezbollah started rattling their sabers, their pagers exploded, then walkie talkie's exploded, and then surgical air strikes getting more leaders.   Even inside Iran, Israel did a surgical strike and got their man.   Iran has to know Israel can take out anything they want.

Middle East is plenty violent without Israel. Sectarian violence between different tribes, religious denominations etc is so common over there it’s normal.  If you don’t know that you are very uninformed.

Lots of violence all over the world. Israel is more violent than any country in world history, so either way, the overall violence would be a lot less if it weren't for them.
