Trump is a threat to democracy, or muh norms!!

Recommended Posts

I agree with how Jonathon Turley sees it.

“When Benjamin Franklin said the framers had created “a republic, if you can keep it,” he meant that we needed to keep faith in the Constitution. Law professors mistook their own crisis of faith for a constitutional crisis. They have become a sort of priesthood of atheists, keeping their frocks while doffing their faith. The true danger to the American democratic system lies with politicians who would follow their lead and destroy our institutions in pursuit of political advantage.”

dissolve the Supreme Court ha

A true democracy would have neither a Supreme Court or a President.  Maybe Kamala will withdrawl from the race?  🤔

Matt Taibbi:

“A little country run by a bunch of jumped-up tobacconists and corn farmers needed an ally to withstand the wrath of European royalty. They got it by lighting a match under human ingenuity and creativity and passion. It was rash, risky, reckless, and it worked.

What was the American personality? Madison said he hoped to strengthen the “will of the community,” but other revolutionaries weren’t quite so polite. Thomas Paine's central message was that the humblest farmer was a towering moral giant compared to the invertebrate scum who wore crowns and lived in British castles.

Common Sense told us to stand up straight. Never bow, especially not to a politician, because as Paine explained — I want you to think of John Kerry and Hayden and Cheney here — “Men who look upon themselves as born to reign, and others to obey… are frequently the most ignorant and unfit of any throughout the dominions.”“

I have on several occasions.  At one point the joke of the board was how in one thread I had ole what’s his name who used to follow me around, but has seem to have disappeared, throwin his insults at me when I was calling him out, while on the other hand had three point takedown on another thread doing the exact same thing.  I’ve had people give me shit about being on the fence and not picking a side, because I call it out as I see it….not only if it’s one side or the other.

But maybe your best bet is to stop obsessing with what the left is doing so much, and focus within.  Just a thought.

In all fairness Rasta is in fact an equal opportunist when it comes to calling people/ideas/opinions out.  I can respect that.
