His butt is hurt because his friends lost their bouts. Time to run his mouth again

He should just shut his mouth and move on with  his MMA career. Most people given power and money do not know how to handle it as demonstrated here.

While I would typically agree, I do not believe this is the case. Pat Downey and Bo Nickal friends???

Nolf and Kerk.

Wasn't his comment specifically about Pat Downey getting robbed? I did not see anything related to his former PSU teammates.

I think this is a great move by Nickal for the sport. Some in the JJ community are making up excuses as to why the wrestlers had a good showing despite losing - even claiming that Nolf greased. IMO Nickal is just flipping the script to show that a top ranked JJ could not last in a wrestling match like the wrestlers lasted in grappling. I doubt anyone accepts the challenge- a WT level wrestler will tech them inside a minute. It will make them look really bad. If they don't accept they also look bad - especially putting up 10k. Good move whether you love or hate PSU IMO.

Nolf's breakdown of the match and the greasing

Whining on social media must be part of his brand now. Pretty lame TBH, seems like he's lost the smart/humble/capable vibe that made him fun to follow in college.

Where did I make a claim that Nickal said they got hosed?

He seemed "butt-hurt" because Downey got hosed in his match not because his friends lost their matches.

I think a lot of the wrestling pushback came from both Downey's match as well as Kerkvliet's - Kerkvliet's opponent played guard the entire match and Kerkvliet looked lost and engaged, then disengaged every time he was put into jiu jitsu positions, and lost the decision despite being on top the whole time (because he never came close to passing and was in a number of legitimate submission attempts).

Agree his comments seemed mainly in reference to Downey.   One because Downey won a match and two because apparently people thought he should have won the second as well.

It couldn’t have been in reference to Nolf because his opponent didn’t do the lay on his back thing.

its just like NCAAs. He's home, starts getting anxious cause no  ones paying attention to him, starts nonsense on social media.

you guys are all missing the most pertinent impetus to his tweet (which, is pretty mild, regardless)

the jiu jitsu folks were trashing nolf and wrestling in general.

Why were they trashing Nolf?  He faced the top seed and made it through a few rounds.

because they guy didn't pull guard. which means, he just didn't lay on his back (which is rare, and rarer yet against a wrestler).

so some dorks were chirping that the 'great wrestler jason nolf couldn't even win with ruotolo standing'.

a lot of people (including wrestling people) were crying about wrestlers defending wrestling. far fewer saw the genesis of the argument.

TBD
