I think it is strange that Yellowstone doesn't have cameras on all these hydrothermal areas so that they can catch this kind of activity.   It took a tourist to see it.   That was quite the explosion that only a few would have witnessed, but for the camerman.   Now everyone gets to see it.   It must have been quite jarring.

I imagine it is a technology and expense issue. Either you need to provide internet to the most remote of regions at some cost or you need to constantly send someone to download images stored on a camera. Perhaps there is a philosophical element too. Not wanting to spoil nature with technology.

This has gotta be 'climate change' correct?  Last time I was at the Yellowstone they could tell you when the geyser was gonna blow like clockwork.
