That was an amazing match, but that is everything wrong with the rules of freestyle right now.  Just so much inconsistency open to the whims of three random people who decided they wanted to officiate.

Clearly biased refs were clearly biased against both Burroughs at 74 KG and Valencia at 86 KG.

That was bullshit.

That's just infuriating. Like what the hell was that?

He literally took a TD from Brooks.

No by robbing zahid of the win

Did you miss the TD he took from Brooks?

Like, his physical presence literally denied Brooks a TD.

Zahid threw the brick back. Helpful hint.

Valencia knew he grabbed the singlet. That's why he threw the brick back.

Didn't Valencia get called for a singlet grab in college against Hall in the NCAA semis?

Brooks is a beast. He's been wrestling all day. Pours it on everyone towards the end of matches. At 10:45pm he takes out a TOUGH Valencia who sat out until the challenge semis. Wow.

Nevertheless, I wish Brooks and Zahid could have a best of three series because that match felt a little too glitchy.

Did you watch the same match?  The ref won that match, not Brooks.

Wow that wasn't boring.  An uncharacteristically bad challenge by Penn State.  Looks like the point for lost challenge will cost them the match.  Then Zahid gets another penalty to lose a match against a PSU guy in a semifinal for an equipment grab. Really?  Then Zahid doesn't challenge???  Double really??? Even if he lost he'd still just need a takedown.  Which he wasn't gonna get anyway with so little time left.  And I think he could have won the challenge. Not sure we can't know now.  Wild.

Can anyone post proof of the singlet pull?

Zahid not accepting the brick seems damning.  But I want to see this.  Ref was super adamant about it.  Seems like side judges decided to trust him.
