Ohio State will have 2 different teams.
Pre-Christmas

OSU

125 - Kilkeary + McCrone
133 - Bouzakis + Davino
141 - Mendez
149 - D’Emilio + Cannon
157- Gallagher
165 - Hepner
174 - Welsh
184 - Rogotzke
197 - Shumate
285 - Feldman

Post Season

OSU

125 - Kilkeary
133 - Bouzakis
141 - Mendez
149 - Cannon
157- Sasso
165 - Kharchla
174 - Welsh
184 - Rogotzke
197 - Shumate
285 - Feldman

i see Kharchla and Sasso coming in second semester and taking 157 and 165. The two weights I have the least confidence is 125 and 149.

I could see coaches sending 125,149,157 and 166 to the southern scuffle to finalize those weights for the post season.

197 - Geog/Shumate
285 - Feldman

I like McCrone, I believe Kilkeary gets the early starts and McCrone has to win the spot back. Hepner starts.
I can't see Sasso at 65 (which has been mentioned) or Kharch at 84. Maybe Rogotzke RS's and Welsh goes 84? Geog / Shumate is a push for me.
65 to 97 depends on too many things to be sure of anything...🚍

I've been told they expect sammy to be the guy at 165

There's probably five kids ready to go at 149 and all of them could have a productive season.

Three are RS'ing.

I mean, to be completely fair, three are EXPECTED to red shirt. The season hasn't started yet. One of those 3 you mention that i know has said he expects to and wants to rs but obviously with Dylan's situation nothing is for certain at the moment.

I get it. That's the distinction I was making between your post and mine...

Nothing will be settled until D'Emilio is settled.

Is Dylan hurt or something?

I don’t see Sammy going 165. He last competed at 141 and was severely injured. It would be a tall task for a healthy person to bump 3 weight classes and I don’t see that happening.
I also think Sammy will still have the desire to win a title. Unless Messenbrink gets hurt, he is winning 165.  149 is the best option for Sammy to win a title, followed by 157. I see him in March at one of those 2 weights.

He was done at 49 the last year he wrestled. I keep reading how hard he is working, but I will be surprised if he is wrestling this season. If he is...It won't be at 49.

This never happened.  He never wrestled 141lbs.

Cody Merrill listed at 197 on Okie State's official roster. Does he get the nod over Surber??

If he beats him, why wouldn't he?

My guess for PSU:

  • 125- Lilledahl
  • 133- Davis (possible: Nagao)
  • 141- BB
  • 149- SVN
  • 157- Kasak
  • 165- Haines (possible: MM)
  • 174- MM (possible: Haines, Facundo, Ryder)
  • 184- Cstar
  • 197- Barr
  • HWT- Kerk

IDK man, this seems like a good team.

weight qualifications are starting to flow through into trackwrestling.

Caleb Fish at 157 and Cael Hughes at 133 for OKST - I had thought both would be up from there

Certifications are always perplexing.

Some schools have their guys at the weight they want them at and others let them be fat and happy.
