My revised Arizona State lineup for 2024-2025 (rankings from WrestleStat)

125 - # 1 ranked Richard Figueroa - RS Junior (15-5 last season) - 2024 NCAA champion @ 125 lbs

133 - # 16 ranked Juian Chlebove - 6th year Senior (19-10 last season)

141 - # 7 ranked Emilio Ysaguirre - RS Sophomore (0-0) OR # 10 ranked Jesse Vasquez - RS Senior (11-4)

149 - # 10 ranked (@ 141) Jesse Vasquez - RS Senior (11-4) OR # 7 ranked (@ 141) Emilio Ysaguirre - RS Sophomore (0-0)

157 - # 74 ranked (@ 149) Kaleb Larkin - RS Freshman (2-0) OR # 76 ranked Mykey Ramos - RS Junior (7-3)

165 - # 3 ranked Jacori Teemer - 7th year Senior (25-4) - 2024 NCAA runner-up @ 157 lbs

174 - # 18 ranked Nicco Ruiz - RS Freshman (8-2)

184 - # 45 ranked Cael Valencia - RS Junior (11-14)

197 - # 134 ranked Jacob Meissner - RS Sophomore (3-15) OR perhaps someone from the transfer portal

285 - # 5 ranked Cohlton Schultz - 6th year Senior (12-4)

If Rogers goes, this is what I think...

125 - Figs
133 - Chlebove
141 - Vasquez/Ysag
149 - Larkin
157 - Kilic/Ramos/McClane - wrestler by committee...
165 - Kilic/Ramos/McClane - wrestler by committee...
174 - Ruiz
184 - Rogers/Valencia
197 - Rogers/Valencia
285 - Schultzy

If no Rogers, then another wrestler by committee at 197 that nets them ~3 wins on the season (again).

I think Teemer ducks out and I think Larkin is 149 at the highest.  He could very well be 141 as well.  He has freestyle aspirations, so if he isn't going 65 KG I imagine he is trying to go 74 KG, so 157 is possible.  Add in that Manville could start straight away for them - same for Kyler Larkin as well.  Could be something like this by season's end...

125 - Figs
133 - Chlebove
141 - Larkin
149 - Manville
157 - Larkin
165 - McClane
174 - Ruiz
184 - Rogers
197 - Valencia
285 - Schultzy

Larkin was so much taller/skinnier than his opponents at OTTs, hard to believe he can make 141 consistently.  It's only the eye test admittedly, but I'd expect him at 149.

agree....149....I don't see the extra 2 pounds from trials on a consistent weigh-in basis.

I’ll take a shot at NDSU

125 Ryan Henningson, last years starter, non-qualifier
133 Michael Olson, true freshman from MN
141 Gavin Drexler, returning starter
149 Max Petersen, returning starter
157 Kellyn March, (NDSU could benefit a lot bumping up here)
165 Landon Johnson, returning starter 157
174 Brendan Howes, returning starter OR true freshman Magayna
184 Adam Cherne, returning starter
197 ??? Macray Klohs redshirt freshman maybe?
285 Northern Colorado transfer

All things considered, most of their starters return. They can be okay at 141-174 if things go right and guys develop. VERY young team last year. Obviously losing Sax was a huge blow. I think Olson at 133 is promising but won’t be an impact guy right out of the gate, same with Magayna. If they can redshirt, they should.

Kellyn did not cut any weight at 149 and had a hard time keeping his weight up. I don't think 157 is in the cards.

Petersen then, or perhaps March down to 141 and Drexler down to 133.

Petersen and March are two of their most talented guys. They can’t afford to have one sitting.

125 Troy Spratley (made stupid moves to lose a big 12 title and to AA)

133 Cael Hughes (U20 Champ- Undefeated in High School. Exact same high school resume as Fix)

141 Tagen Jamison (Big 12 semi finalist) HOPEFULLY ANDREW ALIREZ TRANSFERS IN
149 Jordan WIlliams (Big 12 Finalist, lost due to inj. Blood Round dude.) PARCO PLEASE COME!!!!

157 Teague Travis (4th Place Big 12 Placer. Beat Brock Mauler twice.) TEEMER PLEASE COME TOO!!!!!!!!!!

165 Caleb FIsh (Blood round dude.)

174 Dean Hamiti (3x Big 10 champ, 2x AA)

184 Dustin Plott (2nd at Big 12s and National Championships. Lost to Keckeisen three times. Ferrari will not be at him)

197 Christian Carroll (Tied with J'den Cox but lost in criteria at Olympic Trails)

285 Konnor Doucet (Please come in Wyatt, this guy didn't take 5 shots last year.)

BIg 12 Champs or Runner Ups. Transfers that come in will give this team hope.

Maybe top 3-5

I've read Alirez might go 149

I think It would be very difficult to rebreak the record with this team. Id have them winning 165,197,285 and a shot to win 125,141(I think Alirez and Jesse may separate a bit though), 149,174 (I favor KOT by a decent margin). While I think this lineup has crazy upside similarly to this year I think there's a world where MM and Kerk are the only champs if Keck goes 197 I think he can go with Carter. Im not sure where SVN is at post injury and to go up a weight when I didn't think he was that big at 149 could pose issues. Lilledahl has as good of a chance as 8-10 other guys to win 125. Not sure what to expect from Barr I'm sure he does well and I think nagao is a low AA likely at best. They will win the natty again with ease just not sure if 172 is likely.

I like KOT, but if you really watched Haines last year, he was a hammer from late January till the end of the year, and didn’t make any mistakes. At best that should be considered an interesting 50-50 weight class

Haines just got worked by Facundo at the Olympic trials. I’d consider KOT the favorite at this point.

Virginia Tech

125 - Ventresca

133 - McGonagle

141 - Latona

149 - Henson

157 - Hipolito

165 - Amine

174 - Wolak

184 - Stewart

197 - Sasso/Smith

285 - Catka/Mullen

That could be ten AAs... in fact everyone is either ranked to finish Bloodround or higher, not including Redshirt Frosh Hipolito who nearly won the 165lb spot last year as an undersized True Frosh (probably should have, actually).

Is this sustainable?  Mr. Carroll healthy and happy at this weight for a full season?

I think Hipolito is going to be fantastic maybe not this year but at some point hes an incredible athlete.

Would love this lineup. McGonagle, Amine, and Wolak would be a sick portal haul.

My questions would be...

1. Which Eddie will we get next season? He was hurt all of last season, so we will get a far better version if healthy. Will he be able to wrestle an AA-caliber season or was his great freshman run lightning in a bottle?

2. What can we expect from the talented redshirt freshmen and will the seniors be able to hold Sasso/Mullen off? Mullen is the most likely of the three. Frayer mentioned on the VT board a couple months ago both Mullen and Sasso were top 15 caliber wrestlers at their weight classes this past season. We'll see what a full season in the room can do for both without the distraction/lingering injuries from football. We will certainly see more attacking at the upper weights with Hip, Sasso, and Mullen.

3. Will Tanelli be able to take the lower weights up a notch? He's walking into a talented room with wrestlers who experienced down seasons for different reasons. Looking forward to a Latona who can eat a meal daily during the season. He had a hard time finishing and getting up from bottom at 133 this past season like his final year at 125.

4. Will TJ be able to continue his meteoric rise? He was so much fun to watch and unexpected boost. Needs more seasoning but the talent is undeniable. Btw, his brother just committed to VT this past week. Nice kid.

thats really exciting I expect big things from him this year then.

Until feldman finished pretty strong, I was thinking it looked like post football mullens was on about the same level.

I don’t think Teemer is gone. I see Larkin at 157 and Teemer at 165. Sucks fur McClane. Really liked how well he was wrestling at the end of the year. Gives them nice depth though.

He's still at ASU...  After weighing in at 143 a few weeks ago, I think Larkin's ideal weight might be 149. It still fills out the lineup if he goes 149 - Teemer 157 - McLane 165 - Ruiz 174 - Valencia 184.  The danger for ASU is losing Manville to Ok State.
