Follow along:

Of note: UofM's Amine is the 2 seed at 165 and tOSU's Hepner is the 1 seed.

Did Amine make the mistake of wrestling in a meaningless early season allstar type event that wasn't suppose to count on his record or impact seeding?  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Probably.

Against someone Amine beat (last) and outplaced at NCAAs right?

Regardless they will likely meet in the finals and it is probably what I would call a toss-up at this time of the season.

But Amine's gonna have a much rougher path to the final, just ask Mark Hall.  😞

Amine should handle him and the rest.

Early season Amine is not going to handle Hepner.

I like Hep, I just see...even early Amine not having any trouble with him. I'll be happy to be wrong.

Mayfield of Northwestern will be no slouch for Amine in the semi-finals.

Shumate beats Poz 7-6

That's a good win for Shumate. A lot of people lost a lot of enthusiasm for him in the later portion of his HS career, so it's good to see him putting up promising results.

Agreed. The drop to 84 will probably help him as well.

Any chance tOSU gives Hepner a chance to win the weight class over Kharchla?

I would like to think that Hepner, if beating high level competition and the current starter, would be given the chance.  I don't think Ryan will build a lineup based on name recognition, but rather,  real results.  Something does seem amiss with Kharchla.  He may be cutting too much?
