WrestlingRasta Posted February 15 Share Posted February 15 In case you missed it Tucker is in Russia and has been going on about how clean the streets and subways are, much nicer than anything you are going to find in America he says. And....... he is absolutely right. I have spent time in Russia and they keep the streets, sidewalks, subways, etc immaculate. No joke, you could picnic on the ground in the subways. I don't like to wear shoes, if i can walk around barefoot I'm going to......boy did I get some looks of death. But what is not being told is the 'why'? Why are the streets, sidewalks, and subways all so immaculate? Because when you have freedom, you also have the freedom to make the wrong choice. Unfortunately freedom isn't free. It takes work and also takes acceptance that people are going to do stupid shit when they are free to do so. Jason Bryant Posted February 15 Share Posted February 15 Having only been to Moscow in Russia, I didn’t find the subways to be notably better than anyplace else I’ve traveled overseas (I’ve been to 29 countries). I found the old Russian subway cars pretty unforgiving and the subway itself reeking of cigarettes - which isn’t uncommon in Eastern Europe and Russia. I was curious as to why you, of all people, would omit that he said the conditions there reminded him of cities in this country a few decades ago. That he was pointing out the recent decadence in our cities, not the advantages of the communist system, which was something that Obama did as president. I made note that he omitted the role that freedom, or lack thereof, has on the topic, which is a pretty powerful impact. In other words my whole point of the post is he failed to mention how not being a free people plays into that. Its not choice to take a pill created to treat your chronic pain that was brought about through no fault of your own. Then through no fault of your own, and all the fault of the company that created it, that you became addicted to it. So, your solution would be to just suffer in agonizing pain and misery either way because you brought it on yourself. 2. Seems to have struck a nerve. I never mentioned 'leading' cause of anything. Just trying to point out that your knee jerk reaction to brow beat people for their 'personal choices' as a way to mitigate your guilt or other feels is a defense mechanism that needs to be addressed. Because these are PEOPLE and sometimes things happen that are out of their control. The 'personal choice' excuse, and it is an excuse, is a way to otherise a group that makes you feel icky. Makes it easier to ignore and walk past by seeing them as lacking in morality or some other dumb-ass fantasy characteristic that you hold in high regard that they could not possibly have and in so have little to no value to you. Since they have no value to you it is your opinion they should have little value to anyone else and we shouldn't spend hard earned money on people that 'CHOSE' this for themselves.
