How deep are we going on this in terms of heel definition? There are a few athletes who fell rather far afoul of what is expected in decent society (even before gambling 😁), are we taking any of that into account?

You sound like you’ve got people in mind. Do share.

downey was the massive miss on my part, put him in at 184.

Minnow has got to be the coach. People dislike the brands but no one is saying they aren't tough or are bad people.

I’m a Iowa / brands fan too lol

There was a very successful 125-133 lb wrestler for ISU and PSU in the early Cael days who was so uncouth in his unbridled disregard for personal space that he could probably take down both the 125 and 133 spots.

For Heavyweight, gotta be Mocco after he went to Okie State, that makes him double-heel, he was the bad guy at Iowa, but then went to potentially the most heel team to ever win an ncaa championship, even being a heel for the Iowa fanbase.

I guess I’d prefer we stick to sportsmanship surrounding competition than rehash off the mat character issues.

fair considering we definitely know more about that.

Desanto was a heel at Drexel and at Iowa. Impossible to leave him off this team. In fact he is the MOH of this team. Most outstanding heel!

Great call.

Anybody around who remembers the 80’s Iowa teams? There have to be some guys from those teams, I just wasn’t around to watch them.

Baylor Ferndandes of Northern Colorado intentionally tries to hurt people with non-wrestlling moves on a semi-regular basis.  He sucks at wrestling also if that helps him qualify

i think it does, is there an example?

Let me fish out a video or two if I can.  In the meantime, if you view his wrestlestat profile, you will notice an unusual number of INJ or DEF matches

because he's just ramos who shoots, and he's gotten better with time.

its no fun to put metcalf ramos and gilman in there for the same reasons.

Ramos never pulled anything like Gilman engineering the Waters self-slam though.

125: Matt McDonough, perhaps? Didn't seem like too bad a guy, until his senior year meltdown, highlighted by him throwing his B10 medal in the garbage and refusing to attend the award ceremony. Definitely a heel-type move.

Nah man, everyone loved McD. Sucks to see a guy trying to wrestle with one arm.

i don't have a great counter argument, i just think ramos was certainly capable of similar behavior, and again having a big mouth and being boring is gross combination, gilman wasnt nearly as boring.
