To play a little devil’s advocate here, there also seemed to be a bit of that basically being ISU’s peak of that season, and many of them weren’t able to wrestle up to the same level for NCAA’s

Yes, but both Gable and Gibbons seemed to think that dual win was what propelled them to a title the next year.  It was a breakthrough.
