Assad is in trouble?

Sounds like it is speculation from the Iowa board about who may be in trouble with the gambling scandal.  As told to me earlier, I don't believe this is verified - so just speculation at this point

Wrestlestat bases that off returning points only, meaning someone like Drake Ayala counts for 0 points. It's a lame assessment. Michigan has a good roster but probably a better dual team than tournament

It’s not based off of their “ratings”?

Think Assad has Olympic redshirt for cadets still. Nonetheless, he never AA and is a senior so it's not like he has some death grip ownership of the weight class. He's a good wrestler but is owed nothing other than an opportunity and a scholarship

I think the ranking you're talking about is the one just based on returning tournament points. So Iowa would get 0 at 125 and 197 when obviously they will probably score points at those weight classes. Sort of a funky ranking

That isn't how wrestlestat works at all.  If a wrestler has a single match in their career under their belt they will ne rated.

It even gives you a breakdown.

Caliendo is the best of the bunch in my opinion.  Problem is that 165 is the hardest class.   He's one of a handful of people that has beat Shane Griffith and did so as a redshirt freshman out of a mid major program and earned All American.  However this all shakes out, I would prioritize the correct placement of Caliendo above all else.

I agree.  I watched him in highschool, and he beat some really good kids. I don't know how his recruiting went, but i don't think there was a ton of folks on him were there?  He is a tough dude fo sho

I think they’re a pretty solid 3rd after adding Caliendo and Franek, but I’d still take Michigan over them for 2nd.

If they add AJ they probably pass Michigan.   And still likely only win a match or 2 against PSU…

They blow michigan out in the duel without aj

Ayala = > deaugustino

Teske < ragusin

Woods > Cannon

Franek > lewan

Kennedy = < amine

What I'm saying is they don't use projections for next season. Which would be a more accurate. Someone like Meyer Shapiro counts for 0? Ayala will score 2 points in next years tournament? Spare me

Jaydin Eierman didn't even score 2 points at NCAAs in 2022.

Or you could admit you didn't know how it actually worked.  Your Shapiro case is accurate, but absolutely not what you meant.

Also, Ayala might score zero.  I think he is a contender, but he has to take the mat and not get injured.  Ratings are based off results, which Ayala has.

OK after looking closer at the math I think you’re right that Iowa is likely above Michigan now, although they probably match up a little better with them in a dual than the tourney
