Why does the guy who announces with Tim Johnson yell so loud?

Is it because he is trying to compete with Shane Sparks' projected enthusiasm?

Odd thing is that Sparks has been dialing the crazy down, while Ray is at 11 and squeezing the knob to get it higher.

When in doubt, yell it out!… and that guy is always in doubt, he knows very little.

JaJenson09 recap.

Cronin another dominating performance.  He should be in the NCAA finals.

Burwick. Got the first TD showig he can beat him.  JUst needs to get off belly and not get gassed and he is All American candidate.

Hardy controlled the match against a good wrestler.  Should handle him easily next time.

Morton  Damn near put Sasso on his back early on.  If he can do that top Sasso he is serious threat to qualify and score at nationals.

Robb. Controlled the match and did a great roll through when he needed it. He shouldn't be touched after this wake up call.

Wilson. He is back!  He should be able to qualify.

Labriola Great win.  Was never in much jeopardy of losing in hostile environment.

Pinto  Not sure who he can't beat.  Brooks in serious jeopardy.

Allred. Just boatraces yet another guy.  Should be a hell of a match with Dean in finals of Big 10.

HWT. It was just strategy.

125 Malik loses 3-1. He wrestled hard. No one I want more to AA.

133 Mendez folded Burwick.

141 SV...D'Emilio loses 8-6. Tough match. D'Emilio wrestled well against the number four guy. Moving in the right direction.

149 Sasso Fall.

157 Paddy loses a one point match. To the number one wrestler in the rankings. Not many of us would have predicted that.

At the break...OSU 10 - NU 9.

165 Brown loses 10-4. Kharch wins this match. No question. Wrestle-offs be damned...OSU 13- NU 9

174 Smith loses but he's game. Smith loses to the number two wrestler in the rankings. Moving in the right direction. OSU 13 - NU 12

184 Bell gets beat by fall. I like Pinto. He's been fun. I believe Romero beats Pinto. We'll find out in a few weeks I hope. OSU 16 - NU 12

197 Geog loses. He was roasted by the third. I'm looking forward to him next season. Loses to a very good Allred. I'm a Geog fan. OSU 16 - NU 15

285 Orndorff gets a FF. I believe Orndorff is favored no matter who wrestles.

UN 25 - OSU 16  OSU 19 - NU 15

I hear people rave about him.  I don’t really care for the guy.  Seems to be in the matches too much at times.  He’s been pretty good with starts tonight, but sometimes, it seems like he is the problem.  Just my opinion.

Ed Hightower 2.0. He was awful last night...

I call it the Stephen A. Smith school of broadcasting.  He's still on the air, so a lot of people must like that style, but I have to turn off the yelling on ESPN as soon as it comes on.

It is quite awful. I’d be interested to hear if someone out there is willing to admit they honestly enjoy his commentary.

Makes me think..

I wonder if it would actually go over well having a person not well versed in wrestling, who is asking their counter-part questions about the action. Would that help the viewer who isn’t experienced?

That is almost every B1G+/ESPN+ broadcast. Yesterday a guy was in on a single, both men on the mat. Announcer say's, "He's going tree top here."

So the answer is no...

Agree.

but a person who knows they are not well versed. As opposed to someone who is guessing.

In that scenario.. instead of the treetop garbage, “how does he the finish from here?” Inexperienced asks to the legit commentator.
