"Kyle Snyder - your wife is a product of Catholic schooling. Did that make it easier to cheat on her, since she's obligated to stay with you to avoid a divorce and eternal damnation?"

So much potential for entertaining television

Hot take maybe but Catholics aren’t really Christians in the traditional sense BUT regardless they and most denominations in the Christian/pseudo sphere allow for divorce in the case of adultery (some also allow for abuse). There’s a lot of misinformation out there but it’s pretty clear cut in most cases…I encourage you to read and ask questions if you want.

Predictions

97KG-

Gold: Snyder

Silver: Yaz

Bronze: Sadulaev

Bronze: Yoshida

5th: Givi

5th: Taz

This is the most stacked bracket in my opinion, at least in terms of past success. Some insane matchups in this one.

I think Aitmukhan tests Sadulaev rd.1 but Sad is able to get it done before beating Tsakulov next. He would then see Snyder in the Quarters and I am riding with the hot hand(job) and taking Mr. Snyder who has been on fire in RAF and I think brings that over to worlds. I think he could see any of Givi, Magameav or Baranowski in the Semi's but I will take Givi to make it there.

On the bottom side, Yoshida vs Yaz early is super interesting. I think winner of that sees Vicky in the Qts. For the bottom quad I think we see Taz vs either Olympic bronze Magomedov, or a guy who has not lost since last years worlds that I can find, Arturo Silot Torres, whos wins include a dominant tech over Buchanan. I think Silot Torres gets the W in that one to face Taz in the Qts. Yoshida just lost to Azaprira at Asians, and I think Yaz is able to replicate that success (even though I don't know how he is able to win up at 97KG). On the bottom quarter I will have to go with Taz, though I would not be shocked to see Cuba get that win.

I think we see Snyder over Givi and Yaz over Taz (gassing him out) in the semis. Then Snyder over Yaz in the finals. I could get every one of those predictions wrong and would not be surprised, that is how good this weight is.

I mean, she got taken down and the opponent just ran her over to her back with not a lot of resistance

:classic_huh:

She got hit with a HC/double leg then picked up and put on her opponents shoulder before being put down on her back and pinned.

Yes but she was on her belly for 3 full seconds (watch the clock) ... on repeated watching from different angles, the opponent had an arm turk and near shoulder.  It is a tough position, but I would have liked a little more desperation to get her legs uncrossed and right hip/shoulder to the mat.

Agreed.

That seems a bit different than your earlier explanation...✌️

@Truzzcat

Curious how your predictions are changed with these draws- especially at 86KG

I actually love Okazawa getting kadiev straight away I could see Kadiev coming out a little flat. Obviously my 2nd through third cannot really happen because they are all on the same side. I will stick with Okazawa and I think he will see Dhizoev in the finals. I do not think Wyatt is going to medal would be a big change. Uguev is looking like a lock for the finals Abakarov has beaten him before but I do not think he has the juice like that anymore and I really do not like how marcus matches up against him but it will be a close match for sure and in a close one anything can happen. Outside of that stuff I do not think I would change a ton outside of obvious situations where guys cannot meet in the finals because they are on the same side.

Predictions:

65 KG-

Gold: Amouzad

Silver: Sujeet

Bronze: Mamedov

Bronze: Magomedov

5th: Tanabe

5th: Kudiev

USA: Bo Bassett DNP

Give me Amouzad until someone takes him out, although 65kg is so stacked and so deep someone could definitely take him out.

I think he wins Rd. 1 beats Tanabe Rd. 2, then goes through Tevanyan in the quarters and will have the Zhumashbek vs. Mamedov winner. Mamedov has looked good as of late and I think he takes out KGZ. Then give me Amouzad over Mamedov to make the finals.

Sujeet is hot and I think he finally breaks through on the world stage to make finals on bottom side. I think his path to the quarters is clear, where he should see Kudiev. This was close last time they hit, but I think Sujeet makes it 3 for his last 3 at worlds. The other quarter has some nice first round matchups. I think Bassett bounces back and takes out Biabani, then cruises in QT before seeing Magomedov who should cruise there. I think that Bo could break Magomedov, but that the Russian's technique and finesse will be too much and we see Bo go down here. Then I have Sujeet over Magomedov in semis sending Bo out. Then Amouzad over Sujeet in a banger final.

Im notn sure how I feel about Okazawa vs. Kadiev first, because if Okazawa's gas tank issues are weight related off the scale could make them worse. But also it could enable him to go on an offensive blitz quickly. I am conflicted heavily on 86KG at the moment. Such a stacked bracket and the bottom side has 5 of the top 6 guys IMO, though the top side is FAR from being weak.

Sola Scriptura vs Bible/Traditions/Church and Pope Authority

Salvation through Grace vs Grace/Works/Sacraments

In a nutshell…but you can DM me, I don’t want to derail the thread much. We have plenty of that already…

What I found interesting after watching the match (and this is likely, again, due to my lack of international watching) was that the cradle was right there, yet her opponent never reached for her head or neck. I think I remember someone saying back when Keegan O’Toole won a world gold (via cradle) that most other countries don’t train or look for cradles.

So the only takedown Kennedy had earlier was from yanking Zhumanazarova down by the hair and not getting called on it - pulled her forward to stun her, then drove her backwards while still clinching the hair:
