AnklePicker Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Just watched Blaze vs Desanto. Blaze won 5-0. I don’t think Desanto took a single shot in the match. Even when down 5-0 with 2 minutes left. I don’t get it.
LJB Posted August 30 Author Posted August 30 not following along much... tried to watch my guy LL on my phone but every time i glanced back up to watch Aragon, LL would score, so, gave up... looks like it all went went pretty much as expected... i was hoping for a little more follow along here, but, i totally understand why there is not... anyway... i will watch the medal matches in a couple of hours...

The way Blaze wrestles is built for freestyle, much more than folk. I'm really looking forward to how he does at Senior Worlds.

He’s a master at his go behinds but rarely do I see him shoot and score and you need to have that ability if you are losing. 1

The Poles have placed better in Freestyle than Greco for the past decade. Poland used to be a "greco nation" ( I hesitate to use that word as it implies a level of improtance to greco that it does not have n the country), now even the meager successes often come from foreigners transferring. Poland is in that tier 3 of nations along with maybe Hungary or Germany. Not as good as Georigia or Turkey. They will have a few guys medals at Euros and sometimes one stand out who is an outside threat for bronze at the biggest tournaments (like Robert Baran). Poland also sends a big team to the top events. You need nations like Poland to fill out brackets (jk who am I kidding, that's what Russian transfers are for). 1
