Is there any denying that when people say this and emphasize the Hussein that this is an anti-Muslim dog whistle?

Seems like similar is already starting in the campaign against Abdul el-Sayed.

What is your point in stating the obvious?

Probably not ideal that our Prez consistently says this.   Basically gives people more courage to be openly anti-Muslim.  Yes I know many posters here think that’s a good thing.

Obama isn't Muslim. I am interested in how you came to the conclusion that this would be considered anti-muslim?

Because it’s quite obviously trying to invoke a comparison to Saddam Hussein

Ok. If Obama's middle name was Manson it would be ok since he wasn't Muslim?

When you hear the name Hussein does it make your blood boil? So you are assuming others feel the same?

Obama's middle name just happens to be Hussein. Somewhat unfortunate for those born before 2006 and are aware of who Saddam Hussein was.

If he had a bland American-sounding name people wouldn’t say it repeatedly…

Are you saying Spain is wrongfully concerned about the 60k Moroccan "migrants" that stormed Ceuta last week?

Granted, most of them went home but not before damage was caused in the city.   Was Italy wrong for not importing just anyone from Spain in response to this?   Just who is racist and is that a world wide problem and not just a US problem?

Whatever lol.

The presidents whose middle names are genuinely part of their public identity are:

George Herbert Walker Bush

Richard Milhous Nixon

James Earl Carter

Barack Hussein Obama

William Jefferson Clinton (to a lesser extent, mostly in formal contexts)

Among these, George Herbert Walker Bush and Richard Milhous Nixon are probably the two whose middle names are most naturally recognized and spoken by the general public.

HW…and they only use that because there’s another President with the same first and last name.
