LJB Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Crazy… sitting here zombied out from lack of sleep, but, knowing I’m not getting anymore before wrestling starts in a few… I haven’t thought about that fateful night in awhile… I just remember when it started I was like oh shit… let’s burn it all down finally… then trying to remember real particulars I am going to have to resign myself to the admission I was probably just as greased up… finally getting moving the next day and it was all pretty much gone… I have absolutely no recollection of how it actually ended… I just know the end result was a deleted thread… loss of a username or two… and finally the loss of one of the longest standing clubs and wrestling supporters in this country… I was chatting with another username in PMs on a different forum a year or two ago and his wife was training at that club when it was all going down and we compared notes… Now it is like none of it ever even happened… I actually saw one of their singlets at vegas(maybe) this year… it kinda made me do a scooby doo… Max flew out to monster garage to talk to that club about sponsorship about a month before it came out it was shutting down… blew me away…

GreatWhiteNorth Posted July 18 Posted July 18 As a young buck wrestler starting out, I understood the rules - but I just couldn't get a handle on what Greco wrestling was vs Free or Folk. Then a guy explained it this way... it's like folkstyle wrestling, but in a busy bar where the floor is sticky and nasty, you are elbow to elbow with everyone there, and the bouncers will throw you out on your head the second they see you take a swing. It's basically the world's most difficult bar fight. It's made sense to me ever since then. Gotta keep GR.

Beka drops Egypt with a couple of first period TDs and then locking it down for the 4-0 win... that kid is a moose at 87kg... looks so much better than when he was cutting to 82... brett back gets dropped by india 3-1... not very inspiring to watch... benji peak and GEO in a battle decided by whether one correct throw should be a a correct throw or a step out or even points at all... after yesterday's non call on a correct throw for otto, i am left shaking my head and what is a correct throw or not... it feels like it is purely determined by whether or not you are wearing a USA singlet... benji loses the challenege on his identical correct throw that was not a correct throw so is down 4-2 instead of winning 3-3... minute and a half left and GEO just has to block off for the 4-2 win...

LJB Posted July 18 Posted July 18 beka tech smashes india with a caught throw for a TD then a big back arch to dude's dome and a gut or two... i really like watching that kid... i do not know him at all and have only given a brief congrats to him, but, he has both meatheads seal of approval... plus... he is a fan of motogp which automatically makes him part of the family with otto and i... yesterday after otto's last match where he decided to go full tropic thunder we were texting back and forth for about an hour... 5 minutes was that was so stupid... yeah i know... whatever the rest was about JDMs, KEIs and bikes... both of those kids are jonesing to ride again, so, i guess i will be sending the groms down to the springs if the meathead ever gets a DL...
