what will be very interesting for this U23 world championship is how the rest of the world approaches it with it being a week and a half BEFORE seniors...

U23 has traditionally been a month after seniors...

add in the fact that it is in america which is a big travel ask for most countries, how much crossover will be there be between participants?

i don't follow the leg grabbing as close just because it is not as important, but, in greco, there is always quite a bit of crossover between seniors and U23 between the competitors...

i know that originally when first announced, USAW greco was not inclined to allow our guys who made both teams to participate in both tourneys with that shortened turn around... i also know as of a couple of months ago there was still some squabbling over who would coach the U23 team officially...

my guess is other countries have been having those same type of discussions for awhile as well...

plus, you have to add in the fact that traveling 12-15 hours a few days before competing is not ideal and this will be the first time for many of the foreign competitors having to experience that kind of time zone jumping...

our guys do it basically every international tourney, so, it is just a normal part of doing business...

add in the spectacle of vegas...

it will be interesting to see entry lists when they finally drop...

Crazy to think James just turned 18 five weeks ago. It will be interesting to see him compete against these older wrestlers.

Yea I’m excited about it…I haven’t watched a ton of his stuff but obviously heading into this year we’re going to see a lot more of him.

He's been competing against older wrestlers at least since HS and probably years before that.

is this the U20 or U23 team?

someone correct me if I am wrong, but I thought Team USA's U20 FS team is:

57 kg: Isaiah Cortez

61 kg: Aaron Seidel

65 kg: Bo Bassett

70 kg: Landon Robideau

74 kg: Jayden James

79 kg: Ryan Burton

86 kg: Aeoden Sinclair

92 kg: Jimmy Mastny

97kg: Michael Boyle

125kg: Dreshaun Ross

can you post the full U20 and U23 teams please? I see a lot of overlap between that U23 team and who I thought was in the U20 team (e.g., Bo, Jayden James, and Sinclair).

i am pretty sure you have them right in front of you...

there is always a ton of overlap between our Senior/U20/U23 teams after the US instituted the "Schultz" rule in 2019ish which gave the U23 spot to any age eligible athlete who is top 3 at seniors...

plus, we have had a mini "golden" age the last few years of our U20 guys being good enough to challenge for senior teams...

not sure how long that will continue...

This looks correct.

Oh, I see. I somehow forgot the same person could wrestle at both U20 and U23 worlds. My bad.
