Maybe because sports lose money and there's only so much money to lose.

The key to filling your bucket is not adding more holes.

Isn't everyone on full scholarship or none now? And I think everyone at PSU has full?

It seems hard to believe every psu back up is on a full ride

They can't.

Every single program loses money.

Old way of thinking... Nebraska is going to be damn close to in the green.

With seeing these numbers, it puzzles a bit as to why institutions like Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, etc. do not have more sports as they have huge revenues generated from their football programs. USC and Oregon puzzle me the most being in the BIG 10 now. They would help bring more exposure on the west coast and hopefully strengthen the conference even more so than it already is.

because additional sports is less money that the athletic department can reinvest back into football

I may have mistakenly thought it was mandatory under the new structure; that is how it has been for football forever.

However, Cael may have decided that he is going full scholarship only.  Any PSU fans know anything about this?

How many PSU backups do you think there are?

(Also keep in mind the entire team supposedly gets $50,000 ish rev share per year in addition to any NIL)

I don’t think they are. Things could’ve changed but rolling into the 30 roster limit it was said by Cael and the AD that they would likely be in the 22-24 scholarship ballpark, with the AD adding the caveat that if Cael needed something they’d get it for him, which I’d imagine meant one off an extra ship or 2 if needed in certain years. I’m sure many are getting some level of NIL and PSU is doing the revenue share thing too. It’s a lot more lucrative to be an Olympic sport/non-revenue sport college athlete today than it used to be. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

And if you understood "profit" or "in the black," you would know they have no chance to stay out of the red. There is absolutely no chance.  IF PSU can't turn a profit, you think Nebraska can?

And you leave Mphillips alone.

Crunching #s from $$ brought in.  Nebraska wrestling finishes with a profit not negative

Every program brings in the same as the pay out correct?  The money has to come from somewhere.  But are you saying Nebraska so profitable that wrestling is helping to cover a women's sport?

Where do you come up with your "$$ brought in."  I'm curious, and it ought to be pretty humorous!

Please share your numbers with us.
