We are a country with safety social nets since the Great Depression not sure what you are harping against. Unemployment, social security, food stamps, etc which one should we no have?

Somali daycare, bogus food programs, fraudulent hospice, and yes homeless program fraud in the billions. Providing lunch programs for families getting food stamps while parents won't work. Well yes national defense is a function of the federal government. You prefer to be helpless to authoritarian governments who hate us? Is rather have an aircraft carrier then a free cellphone for people who won't work, and let's be completely clear most people who don't work can but choose not to.

Good ideas, but the government keeps getting more and more money yet they never put a dent in any of those problems.

I don't want to give the government more of my money every year because they waste it enough already.

Health care was affordable until government stuck their noses into it.  So no the government can't do much for any without making it much worse. I don't want the death cult to be in charge of my health care ever.
