Tsarukyan vs. Mugzy at RAF 09? That makes no sense.

The match I want to see is Tsarukyan vs Diego Pavia. It would get RAF insane mainstream publicity and put ratings through the roof. Clips would be on SportsCenter and NFL Network, and it’d be talked about on every football podcast and radio show for weeks. I don’t think there is a better NFL crossover match to be made, since there’s a seemingly unlimited supply of people who’d pay to watch Pavia get throttled by Arman.

I'll take your word for it, as I never seen Fried wrestle in person. He was said to have an aura in the gym from all accounts I've received.

Phillips was a guy who I thought in his prime (if he even ever reached it) that you would need 2 kids at the same time to beat him. True specimen lol.

I wouldn't lie to ya about OH wrestlers...💪

Phillips was like no other. Beating HS kids before he was in JH.  Here's a great old article from none other than our own InterMat...

LOVE this. Between the "kinda sounds like stalling, doesn't it?" after his match with Ferrari this year, and now this.. I was always a big fan, but now I love this guy.

Kennedy Blades vs Alexis Gomez cancelled due to injury.

A lot of good matches for the wrestling snobs, and the UFC crossover matches should be entertaining, too. I’m definitely hearing a lot more chatter about RAF from non-wrestling folk in MMA circles, to where they are talking just as excitedly about the pure wrestling matches as the crossover matches that got them to tune in.

I was hoping Mugzy would get another more winnable match to build him up. I think he’s good for the youth draw and adds a positive, feel-good storyline… was also hoping Arman would start leveling up to see where he is actually at as a wrestler, but I suppose it doesn’t really matter in the big picture. Arman vs Tony Ferguson at RAF 10 should be entertaining.

Too bad Ferrari has a torn knee… Nickal vs Ferrari would’ve been a perfect Texas match-up.

Some awesome matches tonight… those people who were talking down RAF are looking dumber every event.

Lovett taking out Bajrang.

Zain over Taylor

Minto looked good losing to Nolf

Parker downs a world champ and calls out Bo

Merab should just have his nose amputated. Frankie Edgar got after it for a 45 year old. Not great wrestling, but still fun to watch, and Merab is just a likable character.

Snyder teched Givi, who dinged his knee up and couldn’t really put anything together.

Colby beating Weidman was a surprise… I hate when the commentators act so confused about the score. And where did that brick come from? That’s the first one since they were taken away after RAF 01.

Gable wins his debut without too much effort. Looks like Romanov probably ruptured his tricep but finished the match out.

I think we’ll be seeing Jon Jones in RAF in the near future… which would be huge for the promotion.

Also, there is going to be a RAF reality show called Undiscovered or something like that.. sounds like it’ll be like The Ultimate Fighter and/or American Idol. Obviously, things must be going alright for RAF as they’re expanding the concept with the youth series and reality show.

RAF 10 in STL looks like a good card. RAF 11 in MKE could even be better, especially if Nickal doesn’t duck Parker.

Gable vs Sadulaev sounds good to me.  Love the Zare callout too.  Not sure RAF is going to be able to get Iranians to come over, but that’s the match to make if they can.  Wish it was at an Olympics or World Championship too, but I’ll take RAF.

Was also happy to see the broadcast team and Jon Jones highlight Eggum/Brandvold/Gophers coaching staff.  They do a great job.

Didn’t Brandvold leave coaching for the real estate world? Is he still coming around the RTC?

It was a good look for Jones. Fans got to see his humble side, and that he has a lot of respect for the wrestling world. It’d be great to see his “second act” being an ambassador for wrestling. It’d be beneficial for both his image and our sport.

I think I paid like $35 for a year Fox Nation subscription (not much more than I paid for a month of ESPN to watch the NCAA’s). Definitely worth every penny and highly recommend anyone putting it off to take the dive.

Yeah he did leave coaching.  I was actually wondering the same and I haven’t asked around to see if he pokes his head back in or maybe just works with Gable due to the standing relationship.  Whatever it is, I’m happy to see him in the fold.

Agreed on Jones.  He could have a lot of impact as an ambassador in his post fight career.

I’m a little surprised Eggum was present at RAF. All levels of wrestling from HS to NCAA seem to be giving their blessing.

Training montages with Gable in the Gophers room and a spotlight on the coaches is fantastic marketing exposure for the program.  With that said, U20s and U23s overlapped, so I was a bit surprised too, but I think it was a great call to be there.  Support Gable and get a huge platform to highlight Gopher wrestling.  Now let’s see who Max gets in his debut!
