Curious to see someone project Illinois lineup next year. They lose a lot with Moore, Byrd, Pucino, Connell, and Luffman all moving on.

Maybe Karson Brown at 141 (won his 4th state title at 138 I believe). Shaw 149. Bouzakis at 125. Davino at 133. Stiles 157. Birden 165. Cannon 174. 184 and 197 work themselves out. I hope Rogotzke (rather throw ya than know ya) can find a place. Feldman 285...

after hearing all the rumors about the hard weight cut for bouzakis and his abysmal performance at NCAAs, i would really hope he wouldn't try to make that weight again.

If I were a betting man, I would bet Bouzakis can't make 141 at this moment.

Bit you could?  🤔

Provo, Cardenas, and Garvin are three Stanford All Americans that may have graduated while maintaining elgibility due to redshirting.  If they do transfer, they have some guys waiting in the wings:
125: Adam Mattin / Sierra Edwin
133: Tyler Knox / Wyatt Richter
141: Jack Consiglio / Chayse LaJoie / Lain Yapoujian
149: Aden Valencia / Gus Johnson
157: EJ Parco / Jason Mara / Jack DeSana
165: Grigor Cholakyan / Dylan Pile / Zach Hanson
174: Lorenzo Norman / Collin Guffey / Thor Michaelson
184: Abe Wojcikiewicz / Tye Monteiro / Cole Han-Lindemyer / Lars Michaelson
197: Angel Posada / Brockton Borelli
285: Luke Duthie / Jackson Mankowski

Does anyone know if Stanford guys ever have difficulty getting into grad programs? It seems like a lot of them transfer out for their last year of eligibility.

I don't know about Stanford specifically, but I can tell you is that most Graduate or Masters programs waive GMAT requirements if the student recently graduated with a strong GPA or from a strong institution.  That definitely helps with these folks gettings into grad programs.  And some Athletics Departments have favor with Admisssions to help get these transfers in even if admission deadlines have passed.

the core 49-84 is excellent with 57-84 having multiple years left. But lots of holes at 25/41/97/285

The NCAA used to have a rule that grad transfers were only allowed if the current school didn't have the graduate or post-bacc program that the athlete wanted, but I don't think that's the case anymore. Or it doesn't seem to be enforced.

A lot of athletes do grad programs or certificates in Sports Management, Finance, Real Estate, or Kinesiology but Stanford either doesn't offer those Masters programs or are in a school (like GSB) that doesn't waive GMAT/GRE/LSAT/MCAT reqs. So, maybe options are a little slim.

There are no rules there is no enforcement ... non at all.  🤨

Ask @mr.nonothingatall if you don't believe me.

One item to note is there is no "NCAA Police" that goes around and enforces rule violations.   NCAA member schools are all self-reporting and it is their own Compliance Department that makes sure the rules are followed and issues their own "punishment" when NCAA rules are violated.

Yes, that was my point.  Some schools are better than others at self reporting.

I have no dog in the race, just never liked okie state.

Also, I made my position clear. Someone who loses 3 times at NCAAs is not an all american in my book. 8th place doesn't count.

I mean, doesn't getting 6th place not count then by your logic?? Really weird reasoning.

It's obviously not meaningless for the kid that is an AA and gets 8th place--but research bears out the fact that an 8th placer doesn't place higher, on average, the following season than a R12 or R16 consi loser. There's evidence that 7th place and higher (including 6th) will do better than non-placers the following year.

Askren mentioned that he thought Landon and Dee both looked like they were cutting a lot of weight and if he’s reading it right, they may bump. If they did…

125: Spratley (Sidun RS)

133: Jayden Raney/Ramirez

141: Jax

149: Vega (Jordyn Raney RS til Swiz graduates)

157: Swiz

165: Robideau

174: Lockett

184: Ryder/Facundo (What happened to Brayden Thompson…he’s no longer on the roster?)

197: Panda

285: Ross

Where does the freak of nature, Mike White, eventually fit in? #1 ranked HS 190 in the country. Projects 184/197. Just started wrestling freshman year of high school. Can't help but compare his build and speed to a very raw Burroughs. Blast doubles, outside singles. High attack rate, loves to take risks and scramble. Won Ironman, just lost Pittsburgh classic 8-7 to #2 Waters on an eye-poke takedown.

For now. Because of an eye poke.

I pull for the Buckeyes and I love Waters, but White is something different. His story and trajectory are insane. Walks into a wrestling room by chance as a freshman bc of being late for basketball practice. Three years and 4 months ago. Sophomore year state finalist. Junior year 5 losses but upsets his way to state runner-up. Off-season works his way into bottom of rankings. Senior year, runs through Ironman and can take down anyone, anytime. He'll still lose a few bc he's raw. But I'd want him over Waters in Columbus in a heart beat.

The insiders think he’ll start at 184 but probably move to 197 later. Good chance he starts at 84 next year if Ryder isn’t fully recovered.

I think he is a 2xer at the end of his career. Maybe he will represent team U.S.A and get us some medals. Seems like his style would translate well to freestyle.

High ceiling and very low chance he is a HEW. Love hearing about guys who started late, have low miles on them and are crushing it!

Zeno Moore coming in next year too. Could probably compete with that group at 157.
