That is a perfect prediction.

However, for Crookham's sake, I am hoping he gets two very healthy years, which is why he needs to go to somewhere else. The crazy is starting and the buffet is about to open.

I honestly don't see how he could have two healthy years. Dude was completely out the first half and wrestled 4 dual meet matches. The grind of a full season is probably going to have dude in a body cast lol

Yeah, I am just hoping he does... he made it through 1 season  and a 3rd place finish.

He has two years. 2025 he was hurt first semester and met all criteria to get a med year.  This year he didn't  compete until second semester, which is when he got hurt again, but it was during second semester which is one of the criteria. Unless they are able to pull something off despite the second semester injury, he is getting two years.

If Alvan from Columbia can get a year from 2022 then I don’t see why Crookham couldn’t get one for this year…

Thanks. That explains it. I didn't know he got hurt after the midpoint cutoff. Makes sense.

Bouzakis already came out on social media and said he’s not going anywhere.

Shumate is not leaving either…just recently someone within the program said that kid LOVES the program and don’t expect him to leave.

Rogotzke is still healing from an injury but that same program contact stated he’s expected to win the 197lbs spot. Which confirms rumors I heard a month or so ago…he’s the plan moving ahead it seems. Doubt he walks away from that.

Alvan's 2022 year counted... he was at the RTC in 2024 and it counted as a redshirt. He competed 4 years.

https://www.wrestlestat.com/wrestler/71732/alvan-cesar/profile

Wrestlestat isn't an official NCAA document.  All I know is that people who know more than me say he has a year if he wants to use it, but according to sources close to the situation, he currently does not want to.

Keep in mind, Trumble could have stretched out his eligibility another two years...

That SERTC gift is the same 7 figure gift that's been brewing for a few months now right? Glad to see it finally secured. Spending on an upperweight presence in the room wouldn't be a bad idea.

Also definitely see a difference in desire between Caleb, Seidel, Gaj, Mekhi, Bryce than any of the upper weight talents. Not a knock on them it's just different for the middleweights we've been lucky enough to get.

I think so. Robie announced it during the social at NCAAs.

Same program guy stated Bouzakis and Stiles aren’t expected to hold their respective weights. Which is fine for Stiles but that really complicates the Bouzakis fit. When Bouzakis came out and said he is staying he let it known he wasn’t promised anything so I think that tells us Ben is staying 133 and not moving to 41, as we expected. It’s a mess.

They also stated Birden is sticking to 165 but I think Cannon forces his had there…so I’d flip those. Makes more sense body type wise anyway…

Fishback can’t keep dropping 6-8lbs the day or two leading up to matches/tournaments. He either needs to compete for 197 or maintain weight in a healthier way.

Under different rules, I was the happiest man alive if I was 6-8 lbs over two days before a match, and I wrestled 150.  How much do these guys cut now? If he is "only" 6-8 lbs over and that is considered a big deal, then the weight cutting situation has improved way more than I thought it did.  That would be a good thing.

Nothing, I just don’t see why his 2022 wouldn’t count.  And if it didn’t count, then I don’t see why Crookham’s year this year wouldn’t count

Was Fishback cutting that much?  In his YouTube vids he didn’t make it seem like his cut was all that tough

That’s what I want to hear.

Hopefully that’s just speculation because I haven’t heard any chatter that Sasso wants to leave.

It has been speculation.  He appears big and was nowhere near as effective in the 3rd.  I don't rememeber it being as big a problem at NC State, but he wasn't up against the weekly Big 10 grind.

(BTW not super happy that he left the Wolfpack.  Put them in a tough situation, where they literally had to entice a used car salesman out of retirement from the sport to compete as their 184.  However, I always liked Fishback and he has great Insta content).

It's interesting how people think that because a guy underperformed he should leave and go into the portal. I understand when a guy might not be a right fit or needs a change of scenery....these lists seem to include a lot of guys who just simply underperformed  so it's the coaches/programs fault so now they should just leave. Believe it or not, there are guys who didn't meet their goals, who love their coaches/program and take personal responsibility for their own poor performance.... you know, the lesson that wrestling is supposed to teach about personal responsibility.
