Why you live in that crap city? I think urban areas are great in general (lots to do with fewer rednecks) but Chicago is an exception. It's TOO big and probably the most corrupt city in the country.

Cauliflower ear is cool, singlets are cool, and 2-pieces are cool. Maybe makes more sense to make it the de facto uniform for youth and then once you get to high school have the option for singlet or 2-piece.

Part of it was that he was going through some mental health stuff. Sitting it out for a bit wouldn't be the worst thing if he's still getting himself sorted. That being said, I'd love to see him challenge for the 184 spot.

They are, but off the top of my head the non-football schools are programs like Gonzaga, Xavier, Marquette, Drexel, and Pepperdine which don't have a ton of media network revenue coming in, at least not football-level money. It would actually be funny if a SEC or B1G school decided to just phone it in with football (instead of dropping the sport), literally run a barebones Temu-grade football team and using the football revenue share money to win titles in the rest of their sports. I agree that some programs can afford to pay over the revenue sharing cap, given what their coaches make, but many (most?) probably cannot. Lifting the cap would create more separation between the have and have-not programs and further reduce parity. I think folks are hoping that the players will ground their expectations instead.

Agree with all of this, but you're preaching to the wrong crowd. A lot of hardcore wrestling fans and wrestlers are singlet proud, similar to the way some might think cauliflower ear is a badge of honor. Most casuals would disagree. I like that Claw Wrestling (which targets casual combat sport fans) decided to go with a 2-piece uniform; maybe that will nudge the needle a little bit. The point about merchandising is also a good one, as it brings more money and attention to the sport. Football, basketball, baseball, soccer fans all wear their team's uniforms. No one wears singlets. It's actually too bad that BJJ got the jump on two-piece gear. When you see someone in a compression shirt and shorts at the gym or out running or whatever, a lot of people make the connection to BJJ. Coulda been wrestling.

Political hires and contracts with friends of politicians from both sides of the aisle have been common at the authority. So has unwarranted growth. The Illinois Tollway’s budget for fiscal year 2019 was $1.5 billion. That’s more than double the $680 million budgeted in 2009. A look at the tollway’s revenues during the past decade, adjusted for inflation, shows just how costly the now-permanent agency has become for Illinois drivers.
