The 3-Point Takedown: Friend or Foe?
BruceyB replied to Wrestleknownothing's topic in College Wrestling
You're still missing my point, apparently. I'm not criticizing the referees abilities. I am criticizing the current way that wrestling is regularly officiated where a lot of blatant stalling is permitted without consequence. I'm not doubting the referees abilities to recognize stalling, I'm questioning the point at which the stalling is egregious enough to be called. I'm not advocating for more rules. I'm advocating for obvious stalling to be called stalling. Just because you have a lead doesn't mean you should be able back up to the edge and step OB anytime you get into trouble for the final minute of the match. -
Christian Pyles most disingenuous take.

Sebastian Rivera bumped up to face #1 Micic, iirc he weighed in at 125 and was also introduced at that weight during handshakes to keep the element of surprise. He lost, but respect.... Who did Mark Schultz bump up against? -
Name something to you that isn’t “stupid”.

Why Is DOJ Meeting With Ghislane Maxwell??

Aren't they NOT supposed to tell you? That is how you know you shouldn't trust them. mspart -
Why Is DOJ Meeting With Ghislane Maxwell??

Yes and that behavior, viewed in public, is very very indicative of their actual agenda and what they are trying to accomplish with said hearing. We learn more from their behavior than the actual words they say. Behind closed doors, we get nothing. And I don’t know about you but I’m not about to believe what a government official tells me what was talked about in secret. -

Have you ever seen a congressional hearing that meant anything since Watergate. It's always just a bunch of congressional critter blowhards on both sides spending 90% of their time making a statement then 10% to ask a question and never enough time to answer the question. -
Now you know how much I kept up with him. Sorry to see him go, he was definitely a unique character in general entertainment. mspart

The 3-Point Takedown: Friend or Foe?
pmilk replied to Wrestleknownothing's topic in College Wrestling
BB...I know it's easy for many of us to sit in the stands or in the coaching corner and "referee." I've competed and coached at virtually every level and I have reffed...I'll take coaching any day! Reffing is not an easy job for sure. A vast majority of the refs I've seen and interacted with over the course of my lifetime are fair, competent, and professional. Like every profession, there are dopes, biased refs, and incompetent turds, just like some coaches (and edge to the coaches)...but refereeing is a very tough job and it's easy to criticize from afar. They don't always get right... no one does, but they do the best they can, I think...and I believe the NCAA refs are some of the best in any sport. Anyway, more rules is not going to prevent using tactics that some people don't like and more rules just muddies the water and usually leads to more rules and then people lose interest in the sport. Smart athletes, in all sports, find ways to let the rules work in their favor. Call it manipulation, call it clever, call it stalling... -
Arguing semantics and yet still wrong. If he paid $5 he paid TOWARD his medical expenses. He didn't cover his medical expenses, like I said. Unless you don't know what to 'cover' means.

Come on, don’t kick a dead man down. The Hulkster very clearly pronounced the ‘ther’ in ‘BROTHER!

They delve into that in the article. Keep reading. Although I don't doubt that is the case with podcasts and digital music. mspart

Well, I think its interesting that they want to get to her before congress does. -
This is stupid because all radio is generally less popular as more people listen to podcasts and digital music.

That's a stretch. It didn't hurt Obama. Hillary was a horrible candidate by all accounts. She was rejected, it had nothing to do with her hubby. mspart

2016 Iowa could have shared the fourth place trophy with West Virginia with slightly better behavior. Instead they finished 1 point back in fifth. Granted West Virginia also lost a team point that year, but Iowa could have been there to take advantage of that. 2019 Missouri did not lose out on the podium, but they would have been fifth, a half point ahead of Michigan, instead of sixth, a half point behind. 2025 Ohio State had sole possession of fifth place had they not dropped a point and dropped into a tie with Minnesota. There are a whole bunch more once you get to the lower scores, but not much interesting.

How does this make Trump a liar? They do not sell cane sugar in the US. They are adding to to the US market, I don't know in what "to be named" product. But he announced and it and a week later Coke confirmed it. That makes Trump a liar how? The axiom was that whenever he opens his mouth he is a liar. This proves the axiom wrong. It really was nothing more than that. mspart

I guarantee you that you are wrong. Even if he 'only' donated $5, that makes your statement wrong.

https://thehill.com/opinion/education/5415019-northwestern-study-reveals-a-culture-abandoning-npr/ The younger generation now no longer listens to NPR where they used to much more. Interesting reasoning. mspart

Nope. And because people like Paul and Dana White are so polarizing, folks want to dog pile on them and $HlT on them. Them simply mentioning the call for help goes a LONG way with how famous they are. Add in that any amount over $0 is more than over eight billion people donated... and that is a lot, too. I challenge everyone trying to call them out to post their transaction amount (a screenshot or receipt) as proof. Otherwise S.T.F.U.
