I would love to see Casey head to Central. I know Bennett is fresh, but if I am Bennett I welcome Casey coming in. Cael? Campbell. Do it.
-
Takahashi had a serious size advantage on Mesenbrink, it was puzzling to see as Mesenbrink had no answer to the strength disparity.
-
I don't want the entire coaching staff to be canned because that would be a lame way to introduce a semblance of parity back into the sport. But if really crappy things get uncovered, then I suppose them's the breaks. In the event of the worst case scenario, I would be very interested in how Cael and Casey do at separate institutions. Lots of PSU wrestlers have heaped praise on both so I wonder if part of the PSU magic has to do with the synergy between the 2.

I don't think we have seen peak-form Shapiro yet. I don't typically side with tinfoil hat wearing softies, but I fully believe that concussions have given us a Shapiro that is considerably lower-peak than we have been able to witness in college (yet). Also, it was MFS and not folkstyle. That would make a huge difference in a Folkstyle match for these two.

Well at least you agree slavery was the primary reason for the Civil War -
Valencia’s freestyle résumé far outshines his folkstyle record. At 141 lbs, his folkstyle results aren’t exceptional: he dropped two razor-thin decisions to All-American–caliber opponents, and while he notched a 5-4 win over Rivera (Round of 16) and an 11-6 victory against Iowa’s JV Ryder Block, those wins alone don’t yet peg him as a title contender at that weight. He’s only stepped above 143.3 lbs once in recent years - an outing at 157 lbs against HEW Ed Scott that ended in a 13-3 major-decision defeat. Still, I believe he has a tremendous amount of upside beyond his current #26 ranking at 141 lbs on Wrestlestat, which would translate to roughly #22 at 149 lbs. Projecting to 149 lbs, I could see him matching up with the likes of Andrew Clark, Josh Edmond, and Jack Gioffre, which puts him in the Round-of-12/16 conversation. Back down at 141 lbs, similar R12/R16 matchups against Ryan Jack, Danny Pucino, and Julian Tagg seem realistic. Cracking the top 5–8 at 141 lbs feels slightly more attainable, especially since we haven’t yet seen how he adapts to 149 lbs. Stanich, Lemley, and Bailey seem more doable than McNeil, Stiles, and Williams. One more question: could Valencia wrestle EJ Parco for the starting spot? I’d favor Valencia in that matchup - but would the coaches put Parco out, who if I understand correctly the coaching staff loves? Hell, after last season, I would prefer a lineup bump from 141 - 174. That puts Monteiro out, but I don't think Monteiro is the answer for them at 184lbs (I did last year, but felt proven wrong). Ramblings of an old man... sorry.

That account tracks things a little differently- here is my all division tracker that breaks out the data in several ways - much like I did during COVID. https://almanac.mattalkonline.com/house

I think Nagao (if healthy) and Davis on Redshirt is a good option for them, as well.

They aren’t going to be released for a very long time. It’s similar to what Trump said to Joe Rogan regarding opening some of the JFK files, against his people’s wishes, before stopping. Too many people still alive that would be harshly implicated. There’s been a number of administrations, both R and D, since Epstein was very first charged. That information is not going to come out for a long time.
-
He said he was gonna release it. Just another lie from Trump though. No big deal. Nothing to see here.

Castiglione retiring too; don't think he would ever drop the wrestling program - can't say the same for the next guy -
Agreed but huge difference between not being able to police it and not even trying to as well

More confusion on your part. The only discussion Ive had with mods on here is a little *I poop my pants, don't laugh at me* talk with Willie. And not being able to back up your own talk is of no surprise. If anyone else has a clue what the little fella may be talking about, I’m all ears.

Which college team forums are still free?

Investigating this morning. I made a free account and posted on PSU and Iowas boards. OSUs board is still locked up. Supposedly that'll change soon? -
I’ve learned that being a man around you causes you to cry to the mods. Have a great day.

Ya but is the carnival cruise line racist or what? -
Well again, it wasn’t a brag, it was a compliment to someone else, but if it helps to make you feel better, enjoy, I’m not going to continue to argue something so silly. As to knowing what you’re talking about, no I really don’t. You made a comment, and you have two choices since I’m asking you to clarify. You can behave like a child on a playground and act like you gave yourself a reason to pat yourself on the back without backing it up, or you can grow some balls, act like a man, and explain what you are talking about. I said nothing referencing any time table, other than writing on Sunday events that took place on Friday. I don’t see where “so soon after” fits. I mean, I guess if I wrote it late Friday night or early Saturday morning, it might make sense. Maybe.

He is not wrong that they look weaker at the Worlds this year, but saying they have no depth is a little ridiculous IMO. Suda is their backup at 61kg, and he is likely a world title contender. Yama*I poop my pants, don't laugh at me*a was 3rd on the ladder at 70kg, and he won Duke's u20 bracket last year. Tanabe and Nishiuchi at 65kg would be the tier as Woods if not higher. They even have a former world champ at 70kg (teched prime Zain in the finals) who is on their Greco Team this year! They are sending Takahashi at 74kg (no Takatani), and he smoked Messenbrink last year. They are weak at 79, 92 and HWT (where the US has new faces but should outperform), but even in the upper weights (where Japan historically struggles), their 86 and 97 have past wins over our reps. They are weak at 57 with no Higuchi and Ono not coming down, and we have a huge advantage there with Spencer not sitting out. I do expect the US to outperform Japan this year at worlds, but Pyles is acting like they will be garbage.

Release it all!!!!! Wild Bill and Hillary are the reason it’s not.

Yeah I'm tempted to get the cheapo week subscription just to see what folks are talking about and potentially set a rally point here. But then that'll only be visible to other paying posters. We really should have done a better job before the switch. Interestingly, PSU wrestling forum is not behind the paywall. Iowa wrestling one looks like it is, but I made a free account and can now see the content and post on both. OSU wrestling forum is still locked up though. I'll post on those couple of boards to see if I find anything out.
