  2. Most recent article I could find High School Wrestler Melvin Miller Commits to Wrestle for Either The Melvins or Steve Miller Band Johnstown, PA — After weeks of speculation and mounting pressure from the classic rock and sludge metal communities, two-time state qualifier and high school wrestling phenom Melvin Miller shocked fans Tuesday morning by announcing he will be committing to wrestle for either the Steve Miller Band or The Melvins. “I’ve narrowed it down to the two musical groups that best align with my wrestling philosophy: chaos and cosmic flight,” said Miller, wearing a dual-logo hoodie featuring both a psychedelic horse and a screaming sludge goblin. “The Steve Miller Band has the air of a ‘space cowboy’ I vibe with. But The Melvins bring that raw, unshowered mat energy. I’m torn.” Sources say both bands have offered Miller full ride backstage passes and exclusive rights to body slam roadies during sound checks. “We think Melvin could bring a new layer of theatricality to our shows,” said Buzz Osborne of The Melvins, mid-way through deadlifting an amplifier. “We’ve been looking for a wrestler who screams Midwestern menace.” Meanwhile, Steve Miller himself expressed cautious optimism. “We’re more of a mellow groove, but if Melvin can souffle someone into the fifth dimension during ‘Fly Like an Eagle,’ I say let the kid cook.” Miller’s coach, Bill "Biceps" Bassett, said the decision was ultimately about style. “Melvin doesn’t just pin opponents—he performs. One time he hit a guy with a flying squirrel and shouted ‘Abracadabra’ mid-air. That’s not normal. That’s showmanship.” While the final decision is expected at a press conference scheduled next school year, industry insiders say Miller is also weighing a surprise third offer from the WWF-era Macho Man tribute band Ooh Yeah! At press time, Miller was seen bench-pressing a fog machine while muttering lyrics from both “Stoner Witch” and “Jungle Love” in what analysts are calling a “deeply conflicted groove state.”

  5. Playing around with the placement data and I noticed that while ISU averaged more than 7 national qualifiers per year from 2014 - 2025, they had only 1 in 2018 (Jarrett Degen went 3-2, scoring 3 team points). Followed by years of 9, 8, 9, 8, 9, 8 national qualifiers. What am I missing? What happened in 2018?
  6. Wrestling info on the internet isn’t like porn where you can get it from 50,000 sources and not remember what links you were clicking. There’s only a small number of sources. I figured a guy with your stature would have remembered is all. Or maybe you're the anonymous post. You’re the one arguing with half the board over “internet rumors”.
  7. When I graduated they had the engineering people in a separate graduation ceremony. And other departments had theirs too. I didn't care. Plus the arena where they held it wouldn't fit everybody anyway.
  8. My son runs a few businesses and my neighbor too. They both say this same thing. Young workers are the worst. mspart
  9. Universities have been segregating for years now. Separate commencement activities etc. By their actions they show they are not for desegregation. They are all about stirring the pot of racial animosity and creating racism. mspart
  10. Think that poster was talking about Brascetta not KD
  11. Oh Jesus Christ... are you that insecure about Iowa Wrestling? I don't remember where I saw it. I saw a comment...I know I DIDN'T see it on a platform I don't go on or from anyone I don't follow and saw that he was going to Penn State, went to ChatGTP, it said he was going to Penn State, threw out a couple sources...I assumed the Pennsylvania guy who's cousin is on Penn State...was going to Penn State. I know that's a huge leap and pretty crazy Penn State would get the top guy in the Country. You're up to date. You can stop your neurotic worrying that Bo's adopted Brother will not be in Iowa in 3-4 years...
  12. Make it great again as opposed to the mantra of Obama that we are just another nation among nations. Ours is no more special than any other. Get used to low economic activity, it is the new normal. Make America Great Again is a fight against that kind of mindset in my opinion. mspart
  13. I think the refs should only allow a guy to continue riding if he's actually working for turns (or to keep really active guys down). Too much of the time they just allow guys to wallow around on top of the other guy while not working for turns. What do you mean by "TDWrestling"?
  14. No in fact, it does not. What it implies is that America is Great, but we can still do better. Which, I pointed out in statements I made such as “are we perfect, of course not”, and “we should always look to make things better”. Statements conveniently ignored. Which is the exact opposite of Make America Great Again, combined with constant rhetoric of how terrible America….parts of (majority of) transcripts also conveniently ignored. Which implies America is not great anymore. Nowhere in there is “some aspects of…” Ya’ll enjoy looking for something to argue with saying America IS great, no matter who’s in the White House. Like I also said, to each their own is another wonderful aspect of our country. Off to the hockey game. Go Blades! One Love
  15. The mouthpiece is a financial decision. Follow the money, and I bet Pyles of cash that some company is writing a check to push such an equipment mandate. # of wrestlers 4-40 yrs old that will need one and a backup, and a replacement for the lost one, and as you grow, you need more. You also need the newest and coolest ones. A championship mouthpiece for the finals. Now you get more tired since you can't breathe well, causing more stalling and blah blah blah. Fix what's not broke \
  16. Most pressing matter is changing reversals from 2 points to 3 and it's not even up for review? Shame
  17. No pushout rule?
  18. The thought process is that the mouthpiece can absorb some of the energy that goes through the jaw to the brain from impact. I think headgear padding works minimally, as well. But it's really impossible to know because it may not prevent concussions, but it may prevent some of the consistent banging the head gets that builds up.
  19. Riding time stalls are already based too much on referee discretion and should be left alone. I don't enjoy the way they keep pushing folkstyle towards the TDWrestling
  20. Get rid of any unsportsmanlike behavior with equipment at the end of a match. promote celebrations and grow the sport. Or continue to try and keep it relevant when WWE, UFC, Pride, opening ceremonies of most events are entertaining. Make wrestling entertaining before the boost from female wrestling wears off, and we are back to trying to save or make it financially not a burden.
  21. Good news / bad news? They had a rough 8 year stretch from 2016 - 2024 where they underperformed each year. But they snapped back nicely in 2025, beating their average seed by 1.1 spots. That also means Iowa now has the longest active streak of underperforming seed at 5 straight years.
  22. Seems weird that a mouthpiece can help prevent concussions, but I believe you. How about padding the headgear on top so creampuffs like Meyer Shapiro aren't bleeding out from their scalp every other match?
  23. No. Only 75% of refs are obese fatasses, 100% of the guys in this forum are fat
  24. I’d say that the idea is to help prevent concussions even though there is no true evidence that it either helps or doesn’t yet. I can say from personal experience, I used to get 1-2 concussions a year for a few years in HS/College. I started to wear a mouthpiece and have never had one since. I’d never wrestle without one again.
  25. Today
  26. How dare you mock the Baconator!
  27. You guys should've seen the referee who was a teacher at my old middle school. That fat bastard was about 6'4" and was well over 4 bills and reffed a few of our duals. He was so worried about being partial to our team that he went out of the way to make all the calls go against us! Naturally he was never hired again after that season. His son was a third teamer on our squad.
